Rose M. Thrasher, age 68 of Monroe, died Friday, April 22, 2011 in Apache Junction, Arizona.
Rose was born August 14, 1942 in Monroe, the daughter of Lawrence B. and Helena K. (Boegeli) Buol. She attended Monroe schools and married Douglas Thrasher in 1965. Following their marriage they lived in Janesville before moving to Clarno in 1971.
Rose moved into Monroe in 1994. She worked at Oaktron and the Swiss Colony until 1983. She was a member of the Monroe Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Rose is survived by two children, Christine (Art) Colvin of Monroe, and Jeffrey (Melissa) Thrasher of Janesville; five grandchildren; two brothers, Leroy (Kathy) Buol, Pete (Mary) Buol; and a sister, Louise (Walter) Steiner, all of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Douglas, in 1992; and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Philip Stephenson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at Monroe V.F.W. Post #2312. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
