Rose Ann Cox age 83 of Rockford, IL died peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at her home in Rockford surrounded by her loving husband and daughters. Rose was born October 1, 1930 in Darlington, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Eva (Kendall) O'Brien. She graduated from Darlington High School in 1948. Rose married Roy J. Kolb on October 4, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1974. She married Ronald E. Cox on February 19, 1988. Rose was the classic American housewife. Her passions were her family, church, and home. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockford.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Cox of Rockford; three daughters, Linda (Jim) Kuhl of Plover, WI, Halana (John) DeBo of Loves Park, IL, and Mary (Scott) Ottenberg of Chesterfield, MO; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Juanita Prine, Barbara Nyman, Mary Lancaster; and a brother, Bob O'Brien. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; two sisters, Loretta and Ada; four brothers, Henry, Barney, Jim, and Joe; and Danny who was like a brother.
Private family funeral services were held with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe, WI. Memorials may be given in Rose's name to Heartland Hospice of Rockford. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
