WINSLOW - Roger "Wando" W. Wand, 46, of Winslow, Illinois, died unexpectedly on Friday, August 22, 2008 following a brief illness. Roger was born on December 23, 1961 in Monroe, Wisconsin, to Armin and Wilma (Hale) Wand. He graduated in 1980 from Lena Winslow High School, Lena, Illinois. Following graduation he was employed at the Ray Miskimon farm in Winslow, Illinois until 1988. He then was employed at Baker's Manufacturing of Evansville, Wisconsin for 15 years. Since 2003 "Wando" returned to the Miskimon farm where he was currently operating the dairy business with Roger Bidlingmaier. Roger married Karon Miskimon on December 15, 1984 at the Martintown Community Church. "Wando" was a dedicated Bears fan that enjoyed the many games he attended at Lambeau Field against the Packers. He loved a good Euchre game with a cold beer and a stick of beef jerky. He enjoyed going to auctions and deer hunting with the gang, his Sunday outings with Jeff and the many friends he met along the way. He will always be remembered for the fun and laughter he endured.
He is survived by his wife, Karon of 23 years and sons, Tom and Austin, all of Winslow. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Janet (Miskimon) Warneke of Freeport, Ill.; brother-in-law, Philip (Nancy) Miskimon, and sister-in-law, Kathy (Terry) Armagost of Freeport, Ill. He is also survived by his extended family, Ray (Marilyn) Miskimon of Monroe, Wis.; brothers, Jeff (Barb) Bidlingmaier of Browntown, Wis., Tom (Deb) Bidlingmaier of Browntown, Wis., and Roger Bidlingmaier of Monroe, Wis.; sister, Mindy Julius of Winslow, Ill.; brothers and sisters, Armin Jr. (Barb) Wand, Rex (Bonnie) Wand, Jeff, Gary, Francis, Holly Wand and Kay Brinker of Warren, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Hilda Wand and his father-in-law, Roy Miskimon.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday August 27, 2008 at Martintown Community Church, Martintown, Wis. Pastor Kevin Cernek will officiate the services.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Leamon Funeral Home Lena, Illinois. Burial will be held at Rock Lily Cemetery Winslow, Illinois.
