BRODHEAD - Robert J. Friedly, age 84, of Brodhead, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Woods Crossing Nursing Home, Brodhead, WI. He was born on October 21, 1931 in Spring Grove Township, Green County, the son of C. Walter and Margaret (Schneider) Friedly. He married Loretta J. Hoeper on March 12, 1955 in Brodhead. She passed away on November 2, 2014.

Bob retired from General Motors in 1983. He enjoyed living in the country and working on the farm. He loved going to the river in Lynxville, WI on summer weekends and spending time fishing on the Mississippi River with family and friends. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of VFW Post 6858, Brodhead.

Bob is survived by his three daughters, Debbie (Dan) Meier, Manitowish Waters, WI, Jodie (Steve) Zimmerman, Monroe, WI, Kristi (Bill) Prien), Brodhead, WI; five grandchildren, Cody (Melissa) Meier, Tory (Jamie) Meier, Chad (Tasha) Zimmerman, Karissa (Ryan) Eckelberg, Lacey (Zach Lightly) Prien; six great-grandchildren, Tatum and Mason Meier, Lily, Lany, and Maxwell Zimmerman, and Henry Eckelberg; siblings, Walter Friedly, Fritz (Lois) Friedly, Ralph Friedly, Bertha Chestnut, Lucille Brooks, Janet Zettle, Helen (Gordy) Brooks and Beverly (Danny) Klopfenstein. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a sister, Margaret Le Beau.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, with Pastor Krystal Goodger officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family wants to give a heart felt thank-you to the Agrace Hospice team for all their kindness and comfort they gave to Dad and family, and a special thank-you to everyone that visited Dad at Woods Crossing.
