STOCKTON, Ill. - Robert "Barney" Daniel Williams, age 63 of Stockton, IL, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at home. He was born January 16, 1950 to Charles and Elinor (Sigafus) Williams. Barney married Barbara Kupersmith on April 8, 1978 in Stockton.
Barney was self employed through B&B Trucking and Barney's Concrete. He had worked for Kelly Springfield, Mike Tully, and Dick Magee. He also drove a local milk truck and for Zimmerman's Trucking. Barney enjoyed hiking at the Apple Canyon State Park and on their family farm. He loved mowing lawns, and was known as "the lawn ranger." He also enjoyed bike riding at sunset, tractor pulling, camping, and animals. Barney especially loved spending time with his girls, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and enjoyed people.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; three daughters, Michelle (Veli) Zeciri of Boonville, MO; Cheri (Shane) Story of Apple River, IL; and Brandi (Merl) Busch of New Glarus, WI; six grandchildren, Brandon (Hannah) Zeciri, Sara (Ryan) Aurand, Sam (Colton) Story, Shelby Story, Sydney Story, and Chaz (Jess) McCrary; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Adam Zeciri; his father, Charles "Bud" Williams of Apple River; three sisters, Cathy Noble of Gratiot, WI, Teresa Last of Freeport, IL, and Becky Sanders of Warren, IL; three brothers, David Williams of Scales Mound, IL, Mike (Bev) Williams of Scales Mound, and Tim (Linda) Williams of South Wayne, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, brother Jeff, and sister Mary.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cross Roads Community Church in Freeport, IL, where a memorial service will begin at 12:00.
