LA CROSSE - Richard Paul Locher, of La Crosse, WI, passed away on January 20, 2009. Born on August 26, 1946 in Monroe, WI, Richard lived in Monroe for the majority of his life, moving to La Crosse in 2000. He truly enjoyed his many years in Monroe and loved to share his personal memories of the area with others. He was an employee of St. Clare Hospital for over 20 years, a frequent visitor to Baumgartner's, and a long time member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Richard will be remembered as a loving son and brother, proud uncle, and good friend. He was loyal and incredibly generous to all whom he loved. He was an avid collector of coins and wildlife artwork and had a deep love for the outdoors. He was also a 25 year member of Ducks Unlimited and a fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers.

Richard is survived by his nephews, Eric (Ytcher), Christian (Jodi), and Matthew (Tonia) Locher and their families, and his sister-in-law Sandra Locher. He also has extended family in Canada and Wisconsin, and a host of wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Monroe. Burial will be in the family plot at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe, WI.
