NEW GLARUS - Richard P. "Tricky Dick" Rufener, age 65, of New Glarus, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the New Glarus Home. He was born on October 2, 1942 in Monroe to Jacob and Marie (Teuscher) Rufener. Dick graduated from Monroe High School in 1960. On October 23, 1982 he married the former Sue Jameson in Monticello. He was a long time area musician playing with the "Ding-A-Lings" for many years. He also owned and operated the Village Tap in Monticello. He also drove for Dunham Transit until retirement. Dick is a member of the Swiss United Church of Christ, New Glarus.

Survivors include his wife, Sue of New Glarus; his mother, Marie Rufener of Monroe; four brothers, Kenneth (Cathy) Rufener, Steve Rufener and Dean (Cindy) Morgan, all of Monroe, and Mike (Cheryl) Morgan, Dover, Minn.; a sister, Susan (Jerome) Parker of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania; two feline friends, Mary and Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Jacob.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, New Glarus with the Rev. Tom Neilsen and Pastor Patty Marty officiating.
