A deputy assisted Argyle police at 12:56 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, with a battery that occurred at a business on East Milwaukee Street in Argyle. Argyle Ambulance was alerted to the scene to take the victim to Monroe Clinic.
A deputy took a report at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, of a civil dispute between several people in reference to ownership of a piece of machinery left at a location in Darlington Township.
A hit-and-run accident reported on County O in Shullsburg Township at 10:55 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, remains under investigation. A northbound pickup truck failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the road and went into the opposite ditch, where it continued into a cornfield. The driver caused further damage in the field in several attempts to find a way to exit.
A civil dispute over property was reported at a residence on Temple Avenue in Benton at 11:52 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1.
A 16-year-old boy was reported missing from a residence on West Water Street in Shullsburg at 11:01 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1. He was reported to be in the DeForest area. The DeForest Police Department was notified.
On Monday, Sept. 1:
Timothy R. Proctor, 24, Argyle, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated at 2:18 a.m. on Blake Street in Blanchardville. He was also cited for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, then released to a responsible adult.
Maximo Mendez-Vazquez, 29, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of driving without a valid license at 6:06 a.m. on Wis. 81 in Seymour Township. He was also cited for speeding, then released pending court.
Michael J. Griffin, 53, Demotte, Ind., and Timothy L. Eriks, 48, Griffith, Ind., were cited for driving after hours on the Cheese Country Trail following a traffic stop at 2:19 a.m. in Darlington.
Lukasz Belda, 32, Park Ridge, Ill., was cited for an ATV violation at 5:17 p.m. on the Cheese Country Trail.
Grant C. Garvey, 17, Darlington, was cited for speeding at 8:24 p.m. on County O in Kendall Township.

DARLINGTON - Edwin J. Edwards, 61, Darlington, was arrested on a first-offense charge of driving while intoxicated at 10:13 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, following a traffic stop on Washington Street. He was released pending court.

MONROE - On Thursday, Aug. 29:
A dog at large was reported at 9:28 a.m. in the 1700 block of 15th Street. The very savvy little dog had slipped under a fence to escape from a nearby yard.
A power take-off (PTO) shaft was reported lost somewhere in the city at 10:59 a.m.
A man reported at 4:18 p.m. that his ex-wife failed to show up as scheduled for a child exchange in the police station parking lot. He was told to notify his attorney.
A dead robin was reported lying in the road at 7:30 p.m. in the area of 17th Street and 25h Avenue.
An officer on patrol at 11:24 p.m. in Recreation Park noticed that someone had pulled up road barriers and parking stall markers from the ground. The officer put them back.
On Friday, Aug. 30:
An anonymous caller at 8:58 a.m. complained of unmoved vehicles in the street and in a yard in the 1100 block of 12th Avenue. The owner was warned.
An officer on patrol in the 1100 block of 12th Avenue at 9:24 a.m. left a warning notice for unmowed grass.
Police were called to the Monroe Clinic ER at 1:02 p.m. for a woman who was making threats. The 60-year-old woman was found to be intoxicated. Police turned her over to a responsible adult.
A 9-year-old dialed 911 by mistake at 3:49 p.m. in the 2600 block of 9th Avenue. There was no emergency.
A dog left in a parked vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, 300 6th Ave. W., was reported at 6:54 p.m. The vehicle was gone by the time police arrived.
A cellphone was found at 7:31 p.m. in an office at 1518 11th St. It was turned over to police.

A woman reported at 8:12 a.m. that another woman violated a no-contact injunction by calling her. The case was referred to the district attorney.
A city parks employee reported at 8:36 a.m. that a sink in a bathroom at Twining Park had been damaged.
A 911 caller at 10:40 a.m. reported two young girls riding bicycles without parental supervision in the 800 block of 8th Street. Police located the girls a few blocks away by the Super 8 motel and took them home.
A barking dog was reported at 12:09 p.m. in the 1400 block of 21st Avenue. It was not located.
Keys were reported lost somewhere on the downtown Square at 1:02 p.m.
A small Pomeranian dog who answers to "Junior" was reported lost at 8:05 p.m. from the 800 block of 8th Street.

A child's wallet was reported lost at 12:50 p.m. in the area of McDonald's, 425 8th St.
Police were called to the Monroe Clinic ER at 2:49 p.m. for a report of a cat bite that occurred a week earlier in the 500 block of West 21st Street. The wound had since become infected. The culprit is a stray calico cat and remains at large.

A broken car window, apparently caused by a thrown glass globe, was reported at 8 a.m. in the 1100 block of 25th Avenue. The vandalism had occurred sometime the previous night.
An unlocked bicycle was reported stolen at 11:03 a.m. off a front porch in the 1600 block of 14th Avenue.
A dog owner in the 800 block of 23rd Street was warned for allowing the animal to roam after a neighbor complained at 11:20 a.m. that the dog defecated on the neighbor's yard and the owner did not come clean up after it.

NEW GLARUS - Travis L. Murray, 29, New Glarus, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff's Department, after police observed a driver not wearing a seatbelt and stopped the vehicle in the 1100 block of Wisconsin 69 at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. Murray was jailed. He was cited for driving with a revoked license, having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and not wearing a seatbelt.
David Diaz Sandoval, 25, Fitchburg, was cited for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, as a passenger, after police stopped a vehicle for a registration violation on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue at 5:05 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26.
Mennen D. Borucki, 42, New Glarus, was cited for an expired vehicle registration and a seatbelt violation at 6:12 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, on 6th Avenue at Railroad Street.
Kyle M. Scofield, 26, Oregon, was cited for following too closely at 12:21 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the 1100 block of Wis. 69.

Criminal damage to a vehicle in the 200 block of 9th Avenue was reported at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28.
Harassment over the Internet was reported in the 500 block of 15th Avenue at 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.
Police observed a female trip and fall to the ground in the 100 block of 6th Avenue at 2:59 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. She was checked on and declined an ambulance to assist her.
Police were dispatched at 2:39 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, to the New Glarus Post Office in regards to President Obama protesters. Due to the allegations and number of people involved, police remained on scene to maintain order and keep the peace. There were no problems, and everyone cleared out after two hours.
The occupant of a camper in the bike trail headquarters parking lot was informed at 10:39 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, that he could not camp overnight in the parking lot. Police suggested he try the Town Edge RV Park.

MONROE - Charmae L. Grattan, 38, Brodhead, was arrested on a third-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies and Albany police responded to a complaint of an erratic driver on Wis. 104 near County C in Brooklyn Township at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31. The suspect driver, Grattan, was located on Wis. 59 near Peebles Road in Albany Township. She was jailed.
On Monday, Sept. 1:
Evan J. Christen, 18, Belleville, was arrested on a charge of violating the Absolute Sobriety Law after deputies and the Monticello Fire Department responded at 2:05 a.m. to a one-vehicle crash in the W4600 block of Exeter Crossing Road in Exeter Township. Christen was eastbound on Exeter Crossing Road west of Marshall Bluff Road when he lost control on a curve. His vehicle went into the ditch and he overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross the road and go into the other ditch, where it came to rest facing south. He then fled the scene on foot. The vehicle sustained minor damage to the underbody, causing a fuel leak. Christen was also cited for failure to maintain control and failure to notify law enforcement of a crash, then released pending court.
Tracey J. Merrell, 49, Durand, Ill., was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a stop sign after deputies responded at 12:19 p.m. to a car vs. motorcycle crash in Spring Grove Township. Merrell was southbound on County T, stopped at the intersection with Wis. 81, then pulled into the path of an eastbound motorcycle driven by Victor Manuel Sarti, 42, Countryside, Ill. Sarti struck the right front quarter panel of Merrell's vehicle and was ejected, landing on the hood of Merrell's vehicle and then rolling onto the ground. Sarti was taken by Brodhead EMS to a hospital for treatment of injuries. The Brodhead Fire and Police Departments assisted at the scene.
