Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Jason T. Meehan, 32, Orfordville, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated at 1:29 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the 1000 block of East Exchange Street. He was also cited for driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol level, driving with a revoked license and having open intoxicants in the vehicle. He was released pending court.

• Nahum Lorenzo Thomas, 36, Janesville, was cited for inattentive driving at 5:27 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the 1400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

• A 16-year-old Brodhead girl was cited for a curfew violation at 11:14 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in the 300 block of 4th Street.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Melanie F. Segner, 46, Monroe, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and driving with a suspended license at 3:55 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, on 4th Avenue at Railroad Street.

• Bobbie J. Foster, 32, Monticello, was cited for unlawful use of a telephone after police responded to a harassment complaint in the 600 block of 8th Avenue at 6:11 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9.

• William W. Welacha, 27, New Glarus, was cited for non-registration of a vehicle and driving without vehicle insurance at 6:49 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, on 6th Avenue at Railroad Street.

• Gary D. Harris, 63, New Glarus, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 3:48 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, on Railroad Street at 8th Avenue.

• Brian A. Briggs, 40, Janesville, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 1:11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, on Wisconsin 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Mitchell W. Riese, 18, Monroe, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, on Wis. 69 at 11th Avenue.

• Kyle R. Neuenschwander, 20, New Glarus, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police took a phone call reporting possible underage drinking at a residence in the 1300 block of 2nd Street at 11:14 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.

• Shirley A. Kolden, 50, Monroe, was cited for failure to yield right-of-way while making a left turn after police responded to an SUV vs. car crash on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue at 7:39 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. Minor injuries were reported from the accident. Both the red SUV and Kolden's black car were severely damaged and towed.

• Officers checked the area of the 200 block of 14th Avenue at 8 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, after receiving a report of a male subject who appeared confused and was talking to himself. The person was gone by the time police arrived.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Sarah J. Scholl, 32, Crystal Lake, Ill., was arrested on a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia after deputies located two vehicles parked in the lot of a closed business, the Decatur Lake Country Club, N3941 Golf Course Rd., Decatur Township, at 2:12 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13. She was also taken into custody on a warrant issued by Rock County for failure to pay a fine. She was jailed.

• Mario Ivan Perez-Barrios, 28, Monroe, was cited for driving without a valid license and failure to notify police of an accident after deputies were dispatched to investigate a report of an accident on Bethel Road north of Franklin Road in Clarno Township at 7:57 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. The driver, later identified as Perez-Barrios, had fled the scene. Investigation showed his vehicle veered suddenly to the left and drove off the road as he was northbound on Bethel Road. It went into the ditch and ran over a fence and fence post that was already down from a previous accident at the location. The airbags deployed, the windshield was cracked and the undercarriage sustained damage. Perez-Barrios later told deputies he swerved to miss a deer and that the accident occurred at about 10:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. He reported no injuries.Mary Jane Grenzow 9/15/13
