Monroe Police

MONROE - Frances M. Albright, 75, Monroe, was cited for violating a red traffic signal after police responded to a two-vehicle accident in the intersection of Wis. 69 and 8th Street at 5:56 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24. Albright collided with a vehicle driven by a 41-year-old Monroe man, who reported minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Albright was taken to the Monroe Clinic ER for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Thursday, Oct. 24:

• Joseph A. Lartz, 23, Browntown, was arrested on two warrants after deputies stopped a vehicle for several traffic violations at 12:27 a.m. on Wis. 69 and County B in Clarno Township. Lartz was a passenger. One warrant was issued by the Monroe Police Department for failure to pay a fine, the other by the Dane County Sheriff's Department for failure to appear in court. Lartz was also cited for obstructing police for giving a false name. He was jailed pending bond or court.

• Tyler C. Hissong, 22, Brodhead, was cited for driving with a suspended license after he was stopped at 4:21 a.m. for a traffic violation on Wis. 11 at Hartwig Road in Jefferson Township.

• Cory E. Thornton, 23, Stoughton, was arrested and jailed on a charge of fleeing/eluding an officer, after deputies attempted to stop a red two-door car speeding south on Wis. 104 north of Borchardt Road in Decatur Township at 4:09 p.m. Deputies pursued the car into Rock County, where it stopped at the intersection of Knutson Road and South Dorner Road. Thornton was also cited for speeding 92 mph in a 55 mph zone, driving a non-registered vehicle, displaying unauthorized plates and driving without vehicle insurance.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Oct. 24:

• Criminal damage to a mailbox was reported at 1:23 p.m. on County O in White Oak Springs Township.

• Douglas L. Anderson, 55, Cuba City, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a deputy responded at 10:45 p.m. to a one-vehicle accident on Roaster Road in Benton Township. Anderson was southbound on Cody Street in Cuba City when his vehicle swerved into the northbound lane, crossed Roaster Road and came to rest in a hay field. He was also cited for failure to have control and released to a responsible party. His vehicle was moderately damaged and towed.
