Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Matthew J. Parsons, 25, Beetown, was arrested in the 200 block of Main Street at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, on a warrant issued by Grant County.

• Allen J. Penewell, 18, Darlington, was cited for underage drinking at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, on the 200 block of Main Street.

Monroe Police

MONROE - William Docherty, 31, Monroe, was arrested in the 500 block of West 21st Street at 11:22 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, on a warrant issued by the Rock County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay fines. He was jailed.

• Michael M. Voelkli, 26, Madison, was arrested at a residence in the 2500 block of 13th 1/2 Avenue on a charge of disorderly conduct after a 54-year-old woman called police at 12:36 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, to report that he was drinking and making threats at her. He was jailed. His signature bond was set at $500 Monday, Oct. 15, in Green County Circuit Court. Conditions of his bond include no contact with the home or the woman and that he not drink or enter establishments where alcohol is served. His next court date is Nov. 20.

• Jason M. Dunlap, 28, Monroe, was arrested in the 800 block of 19th Avenue at 1:28 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, on two outstanding warrants for his arrest issued by Wisconsin Probation and Parole and by the Green County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay child support. He was jailed. A misdemeanor charge of resisting/obstructing an officer was filed against him in court, stemming from the incident. His signature bond was set at $450; his cash bond at $50. His next court date is Nov. 6.

• A resident in the 1100 block of 30th Street reported getting threatening mail from a prison inmate at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12.

• A caller at 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, reported seeing an intoxicated man walking in the 1300 block of 25th Avenue. Police located the 40-year-old South Wayne man and determined he had been drinking in violation of a bond condition. He was released to a responsible person, and police referred the case to the District Attorney.

• A caller at 8:31 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, reported seeing a known suspended driver in the area. Police discovered the 28-year-old Monroe man had warrants out for his arrest. They stopped by his home in the 2600 block of 8th Avenue, but the man had fled on foot and was not located. Officers suspect he was hiding in a neighbor's trailer. The case was referred to the District Attorney.

• A handheld game system was found in the 2000 block of Lincoln Road and turned over to police at 10:07 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. To claim, call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.

• A caller requested a welfare check on a dog outdoors in the 300 block of 27th Avenue at 10:19 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. It was raining and in the 50s but the dog seemed fine to officers.

• A 14-year-old boy in the 1700 block of 17th Street was cited for underage drinking after a parent called police at 8:22 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. The parent came home earlier than anticipated and found that the teen and his friends had been drinking. The friends left before police arrived.

• A man in the 2000 block of 15th Avenue called police at 2:19 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, to allege that a 26-year-old Monroe woman came over to the home, they argued, and she threw stuff at him, damaged the door and broke some things. She had left by the time police arrived.

• A resident in a retirement community in the 700 block of 8th Avenue called at 9:53 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, to complain of cats that keep hanging around the area and of one in particular that scared her dog. The officer explained how to chase away a cat.

• An employee at Monroe Clinic called at 9:17 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, to report finding a controlled substance in the ER reception area. Police are ascertaining what the drug is exactly and how it got there.

New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Barret W. Steck, 26, Chicago, was arrested at 5:47 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, on a warrant issued by the Monroe Police Department. Bond was posted, and he was released.

• Annette P. Jordan-Estes, 54, New Glarus, was cited for driving without a valid license (fourth offense) after police stopped her for a registration violation at 2:39 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, on Wisconsin 69 at 6th Avenue.

• Dina K. Schattman, 40, New York, was cited for speeding in the 1300 block of Wis. 69 at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.

• Spencer L. Slotten, 25, Monticello, was cited for an expired registration and a seatbelt violation at 4:36 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, on 2nd Street at 14th Avenue.

• Julie L. Bourne, 41, Platteville, was cited for an expired registration and driving without a license or vehicle insurance at 5:13 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, on 6th Avenue at 5th Street.

• Police took a report of harassment via an Internet site at New Glarus High School at 1:14 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8.

• Vandalism to a vehicle in the 900 block of 1st Street was reported at 7:54 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

• Police responded to an altercation on 14th Avenue at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Two people had just ended their relationship and were arguing as a result. The dispute was verbal. No arrests were made. Police reports about the incident will be forwarded to the District Attorney for possible charges.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Wesley D. Brush, 35, Argyle, was arrested on a probation warrant and on a charge of obstructing an officer after deputies and New Glarus police responded at 3:53 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, to a report of an assault in the downtown area of Monticello. There was a physical altercation between two men. New Glarus Area EMS and Monticello First Response assisted on the call.

• Curt J. Chapman, 23, Argyle, was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control after deputies responded at 5:38 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, to a one-vehicle accident on Prairie View Road west of Dougherty Creek Road in the Town of Adams. Chapman lost control on a slight curve. He told deputies the vehicle's rear end started to slid to the left and then spun around and went up a steep embankment. The vehicle rolled toward to road and onto its roof. Chapman was uninjured. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed.

• The sheriff's department impounded a vehicle that crashed and then was abandoned on Wis. 81 by Dolan Lane in the Town of Monroe. Deputies responded to the scene at 1:35 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. The driver lost control on a curve while eastbound and skidded across the road into the ditch. The vehicle hit a fence post. The occupants left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. The incident remains under investigation.

• A rental 2012 Dodge Charger stolen from a residence in Belleville was located on Wis. 92 south of Remy Road in the Town of Exeter, after deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at the scene at 7:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. The car was abandoned. The driver was northbound when the car hit a guard rail and went into a ditch. The car sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Trevor J. Thuli, 20, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia after a deputy responded at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a closed business on Wis. 11 in the Town of Gratiot. Thuli was later released pending court. The Darlington Police Department and K-9 assisted with the case.

• Adam F. Stocks, 22, Gratiot, was arrested on charges of driving with a revoked license and driving with no ignition interlock device on County KK in the Town of Gratiot at 8:17 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

• Carlos C. Vazquez Mendoza, 21, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after the sheriff's department took a report at 12:35 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, of a one-vehicle accident somewhere on County E. A deputy located a partially submerged 2000 Jeep in a ditch creek at the intersection of Mineral Road and County E. Vazquez Mendoza failed to stop at the stop sign, drove across the road and into the opposite ditch. A passerby found Vazquez Mendoza, removed him from the Jeep and drove him to the Lafayette County Memorial Hospital ER for treatment of injuries. The Darlington Fire Department and Shullsburg police assisted with lighting and traffic control as the Jeep was towed out of the creek. Vazquez Mendoza was also cited for driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance, failure to stop at a stop sign and inattentive driving. He later posted bond and was released.

• Jeremy L. Hefty, 30, Benton, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, following a domestic disturbance at a residence on 2nd Avenue in Benton. He later posted bond and was released.

• Leroy R. Fields, 80, Shullsburg, was cited for failing to yield right-of-way at a stop sign following a two-vehicle accident that injured several people at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg. Fields was pulling away from a stop sign at County O when he struck a westbound vehicle on Wis.. 11, causing it to spin in the intersection. The driver, Costica Mihailescu, 63, and his passenger Elana Mihailescu, 57, both of Highland Park, Ill., and a passenger in Fields' vehicle, Grace M. Fields, 81, Shullsburg, sustained non-life threatening injuries and were all transported to Lafayette County Memorial Hospital. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Shullsburg firefighters, Shullsburg EMS and Rural Medical Ambulance assisted at the scene.

• Tracey M. Zsido, 40, Argyle, was cited for failure to notify law enforcement of an accident, hit-and-run to an unattended vehicle, inattentive driving and operating left of center at 8:34 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, on East Milwaukee Street in Argyle. She was westbound when she veered across the street and struck a parked vehicle belonging to Desyra Ott, 22, Monticello. Ott's vehicle sustained minor damage. Zsido continued driving and was later located at a residence on Apple Grove Church Road. Her vehicle was moderately damaged.

• Daniel B. Warrick, 58, Chicago, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign on Wis. 11 in the Town of Shullsburg at 11:13 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

• Kelsi L. Berg, 21, Blanchardville, was cited for an expired vehicle registration on Wis. 78 in the Town of Argyle at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

• Amy L. Weber, 37, South Wayne, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance on Wis. 11 in the Town of Wayne at 12:49 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

• Telephone harassment was reported at 12:10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at a residence on Dunbarton Road in the Town of Gratiot. The complainant was receiving unwanted and threatening phone calls from another person.

• A deputy took a complaint of barking dogs on School Street in Gratiot at 3:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12.

• A case of fraud was reported at 10:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, on County Shop Road in the Town of Darlington. The victim lost an undisclosed amount of money.

• A deputy took a complaint at 8:36 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, that a vehicle had caused minor damage to a second vehicle when the wind caught an open door and blew the door against the second vehicle. The incident happened in a parking lot on Estey Street in Shullsburg.

• A deputy took a complaint at 4:08 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, of people trespassing on the roof of an unoccupied building on Broad Street in Argyle. The complaint was unfounded: the deputy confirmed the people were working with the owner.

• Several noisy ATVs were reported at 2:39 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, on South Lake Road in the Town of Fayette. A deputy did not locate the ATVs.

• A deputy assisted with a child custody exchange at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, on Riverside Road in the Town of Wiota.
