MONROE - Chad R. Carpenter, 36, Monroe, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. on Monday for strangulation, physical abuse of a child and disorderly conduct after deputies investigated a domestic dispute that occurred on Sept. 27 on Haddinger Road, Town of Monroe.

DARLINGTON - On Monday:
• A deputy is investigating a theft that occurred on River End Road, Darlington Township, at 10:20 a.m.
• A deputy responded at 12:57 p.m. to a report of livestock on the roadway on Dunbarton Road, Shullsburg Township.
• Melissa B. Hodge, 24, Arena, was arrested at 1:21 p.m. at a business on Wisconsin 81, City of Darlington on a Grant County warrant. Hodge was allegedly shoplifting from the business. Hali S. Smith, 22, Darlington, was arrested during the same incident on a Lafayette County warrant for failure to pay a fine. Smith posted bond and was released.
