New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Oct. 23:

• An attempted burglary to a business was reported at 7:54 a.m. on the 1100 block of Wis. 69. No entry was made but an outer screen door was damaged.

• Police assisted the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office at 1:21 p.m. with attempting to make a death notification to a New Glarus resident.

• A lost wallet was reported at 4:01 p.m. by a tourist over the weekend.

• Police assisted after a call where a child that accidentally locked herself in a bedroom took place at 5:58 p.m. in the 100 block of 9th Avenue. The door was unlocked without damage.

• Police responded at 10:07 p.m. to the 1300 block of 2nd Street for a juvenile welfare check.

On Oct. 24:

• Police responded at 8:54 a.m. to Haslen Drive for a 911 call. Everything was fine at the residence.

• Police responded at 12:49 p.m. to the 700 block of 2nd Avenue for a medical call.

• A road hazard was reported at 1:31 p.m. in the 200 block of Kubly Road. The street department was contacted and the tree across the road was removed.

• Police responded at 7:02 p.m. to the 500 block of 14th Avenue for a medical call.

• Police responded at 9:43 p.m. to the 100 block of Valle Tell Drive for a medical call.

On Wednesday:

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff at 8:21 a.m. in Exeter Township with a juvenile that reportedly will not go to school.

• A theft by contractor complaint was reported at 12:55 p.m. in New Glarus that occurred last year. The allegations are under investigation.

• Police recovered two bicycles left at 10:55 p.m. in the 1300 block of 1st Street.

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff at 11:11 p.m. to search for a vehicle in the village involved in a hit and run crash just outside of Monroe.

On Thursday:

• Police responded at 8:16 a.m. to the 1700 block of 2nd Street for a medical call.

• Police assisted with a vehicle unlock at 8:43 a.m. in the 10 block of 6th Avenue.

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff at 9:36 a.m. at Wis. 69 and County H for a report of suspicious person.

• An animal problem was reported at 10:38 a.m. in the 300 block of 8th Street for a dog at large.

• Police located a brindle colored female bull terrier which was transported to the Green County Human society.

• A vehicle was cited at 12:12 p.m. in the 500 block of Rail Road Street for violation of the 24-hour parking ordinance.

• Bobbie J. Foster, 36, New Glarus, was cited for no seat belt at 12:35 p.m. in the 1300 block of 2nd Street.

• A tree branch was removed from the street at 2:21 p.m. in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue.

• A report of suspicious activity at a residence in the village was taken at 4 p.m.

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff at 11:37 p.m. on Wis. 69 to remove large pieces of semi tire causing a traffic hazard.

On Friday:

• Police assisted Monroe Police at 11:26 a.m. to check for a vehicle in reference to a welfare case they were handling. The vehicle was later located in Monticello.

• Disorderly conduct was reported at 12:03 p.m. for a juvenile being disruptive in the Village Hall. Contact was made with the juvenile.

• Traffic violations were reported at 6:55 p.m. in the area of Wis. 69 and County W during the morning traffic hours.

• Suspicious activity was reported at 9:20 p.m. on Wis. 69 and County H. The area was checked for the reported possible hitch hiker wearing dark clothing walking in the area. No one was located.

• A business check found an open door at 11:46 p.m. The business was checked and everything was fine. The door was secured.

On Saturday:

• Juveniles running in the area was reported at 12:08 a.m. in the 300 block of Railroad Street.

A citizen called to report a men's ring found in New Glarus at 10:47 a.m. The caller was advised the department had not received any calls about a missing ring.

• Police responded at 12:08 p.m. to the 200 block of 10th Avenue for a 911 call. A subject was reportedly driving by a residence of whom they are not to have contact with. No contact was made and the incident was documented.

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff at 3:07 p.m. in Exeter Township for a welfare check. Contact was made and the subject was fine.

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff with a car versus deer crash at 6:27 p.m. in York Township.

On Sunday:

• Police assisted the Green County Sheriff at 12:15 a.m. with a domestic abuse incident in New Glarus Township.

• Police responded at 2:33 a.m. to the 600 block of 2nd Street for a medical call.

• Police responded to suspicious activity reported at 11:31 a.m. to the 500 block of 14th Avenue to a homeowner who said their recycling bin was on fire.

• Craig T. Long, 29, New Glarus, was cited for operating while intoxicated, operating with a prohibited blood concentration, improper stop at stop sign, no insurance and possession of marijuana at 10:17 p.m. in the 1300 block of 2nd Street.



Albany Police

ALBANY - On Saturday:

• Kristopher W. Genskay, 38, Albany, was arrested for felony bail jumping.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Monday:

• Erik A. Larsen, 19, Cuba City was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and underage alcohol possession at 10:54 p.m. in the 2800 block of 6th Street in Monroe after deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity. Mariah J. Dietzman, 20, Stoughton, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were released pending court.
