MONROE - On Wednesday, May 29:
Michael S. Harnish, 40, Monroe, was arrested in the 900 block of 20th Avenue at 8:44 a.m. on an outstanding warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay a fine. He was jailed pending cash bond.
A woman at a residence in the 500 block of West 21st Street called 911 at 1:12 a.m. to report an argument with her husband. The fight was verbal, and police found no evidence of physical abuse. An officer explained Wisconsin's domestic abuse laws to the couple.
A stray black cat was found at 7:16 a.m. in the 1500 block of 14th Avenue. The caller said the stray cat followed her cat into her home. Arrangements were made to take the stray cat to the Green County Humane Society.
A 15-year-old boy is being threatened by schoolmates and doesn't want to go back to school, reported his parent at 9:41 a.m. in the 1500 block of 14th Avenue. Police worked with school staff to come with a safety plan for the boy.
A caller in the 400 block of North 12th Avenue complained at 10:59 a.m. that a neighbor's dog barks at lawnmowers. Police tried to get the neighbors to work it out between themselves.
A woman in the 1500 block of 6th Avenue reported her ex-boyfriend at 11:54 a.m. for calling her when she doesn't want him to call her. He was warned.
A woman in Recreation Park complained at 12:03 p.m. about kids smoking and swearing in the Swiss A.L.P.S. Cheeseland Park playground. Police did not locate the offenders.
Loose brush and stuff piled on the lawn were reported at 2:43 p.m. in the 2500 block of 1st Street. A notice was left for the property owner.
Police responded at 3:15 p.m. to a dispute between two exes in the 1900 block of 11th Street over the use of a vehicle. Police told them the dispute is a civil matter and belongs in court.
Police are investigating a report at 3:39 p.m. of someone trying to pay with a suspected fraudulent check at Stop-N-Go, 1607 9th St.
Two boys, ages 7 and 8, were reported missing at 4:06 p.m. after they didn't show up as planned at a family member's home. They were located about an hour later. They had gone to a friend's house to play video games.
Police responded to citizen complaints of unmowed lawns in the 1100 block of 17th Street, 1800 block of 4th 1/2 Street and 700 block of 23rd Street. Warning notices were issued to the property owners.

DARLINGTON - On Wednesday, May 29:
Michael J. Kirschbaum, 26, Belmont, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property at 1:38 p.m. after deputies investigated a disturbance at a residence on Mound Avenue in Belmont. Kirschbaum was not immediately located in the area. When he was found, deputies called Belmont Ambulance because he had sustained an arm injury at the residence. After he was treated at the Southwest Health Center hospital in Platteville, Kirschbaum was jailed. Also arrested in the course of the investigation was Rachel A. Reuter, 22, Plateville, on an outstanding warrant issued by the Platteville Police Department. She was taken to Grant County and turned over to the custody of a Grant County deputy.
Christopher C. Fields, 39, Janesville, was cited for speeding at 1:31 p.m. on Wisconsin 11 in Wayne Township.
A deputy responded to County XX in Belmont Township at 12:55 a.m. to remove a piece of furniture from the roadway. It had apparently fallen from a passing vehicle.
