MONROE - John Wayne Thompson, Jr., 32, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of driving while under the influence of an intoxicant (second offense) at 12:24 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, after deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Wisconsin 69 north of County B.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Russell A. Poller, 37, Platteville, was cited for speeding at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Seymour.

- Leah M. Place, 23, Hazel Green, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, on County I in the Town of New Diggings.

n Retail theft was reported at a business on East Main Street in Benton at 4:19 p.m. Wednesday, March 7.

- A deputy responded to Johnson Road in the Town of Shullsburg at 11:03 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, for a report of several ATVs being driven in a reckless manner.

- A hit-and-run accident was reported at 5:54 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, on South Oak Park Road in the Town of Kendall. A deputy located a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck several hundred feet off the road. The truck appeared to have been heading northbound when the driver failed to negotiate a corner, crossed to the opposite side of the road and into a ditch, where it hit a fence and rolled to a stop in a pasture. The truck was towed from the scene. The case remains under investigation.
