Brodhead Police
BRODHEAD - For the week of Feb. 25 to March 3, the Brodhead Police reported 21 calls for service, 14 follow-up to incidents, 23 vehicle registrations, 48 citizen assists, 15 security checks, 15 assists with other agencies, four traffic stops, nine 911 calls and nine EMS calls.
On Feb. 25:
A 48-year-old Durand, Illinois, man was cited for vehicle operator failure to wear seatbelt at 12:56 a.m. in the 100 block of 1st Street. A 28-year-old Durand, Illinois, male passenger was cited for riding in vehicle without seatbelt.
A 17-year-old was cited for disorderly conduct at 1:09 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue.
On Feb. 26:
A 56-year-old Durand, Illinois, woman was cited for retail theft following an investigation into an incident on Feb. 9 in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue.
On Feb. 27:
Disorderly conduct was reported at 8:04 a.m. in the 1100 block of West 2nd Avenue. A subject was sending threatening messages. This matter remains under investigation.
A 50-year-old Monroe man was cited for disorderly conduct and damage to property following a disturbance at a residence at 10:33 a.m. in the 700 block of 17th Street.
ATV violations were reported at 11:55 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. Four subjects were contacted and warned for operating an ATV without a valid license.
A 16-year-old was cited for operating a vehicle with an illegal rider (subject was "surfing" on the car) at 1 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. A 16-year-old was also cited for riding illegally on a motor vehicle.
On Feb. 28:
A 46-year-old Brodhead man was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and two counts of strangulation and suffocation at 1:16 a.m. in the 300 block of 13th Street. He was transported to the Green County Jail.
A traffic crash was reported at 1:17 p.m. in the 600 block of East 2nd Street. It was determined this was a non-reportable crash; no citations were issued.
On March 1:
A 34-year-old Brodhead woman was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control at 12:33 p.m. in the 600 block of 10th Street.
Theft was reported at 4:37 p.m. in the 300 block of East 8th Avenue. A subject reportedly took a sign from a yard. Contact was made, and a warning was issued.
Theft was reported at 8:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of 1st Center Avenue. A sign was taken from a yard. The investigation continues with no suspects at this time.
On March 2:
Theft was reported at 9:47 a.m. in the E200 block of 23rd Street for a gift card taken. There are no suspects at this time, and the investigation continues.
Police responded at 12:45 p.m. in the 500 block of 10th Street for a welfare check. Contact was made and the subject had been ill.
A barking dog was reported at 4:17 p.m. in the 1500 block of West 7th Avenue. Contact was made with the owner and a warning was issued.
Theft was reported at 5:07 p.m. in the 300 block of East 8th Avenue. Three signs were taken from yards. The investigation continues with no suspects at this time.
A vehicle left running was reported at 6:22 p.m. in the 900 block of West 2nd Avenue. Contact was made and the subject had forgotten.
A barking dog was reported at 10:42 p.m. in the 700 block of East 4th Avenue. Contact was made with the owner and a warning was issued.
Disorderly conduct was reported at 11:59 p.m. in the 600 block of 16th Street. Contact was made and the suspects had left prior to officers' arrival. The investigation continues.
On March 3:
A 24-year-old Davis man was arrested for possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:39 a.m. in the 1500 block of 1st Center Avenue.
An alleged assault and subjects causing a disturbance was reported at 2:16 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. This matter remains under investigation.

MONROE - On March 2:
Disorderly conduct was reported at 8:24 p.m. in the W3000 block of High School Road in the Town of Jefferson. Jakob J. Groebner, 35, Brodhead, was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery. Jakob was released after posting cash bond.
Nicholas D. Beckwith, 21, Iowa, was arrested for OWI (first offense) and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration at 11:46 p.m. in the N5500 block of Wis. 69 in the Town of Washington. Beckwith was also cited for open intoxicants in a vehicle and operating left of center. Beckwith was released pending court.
Evan R. Dorn was issued a county ordinance citation for disorderly conduct, stemming from a domestic incident that occurred at about 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 1. Dorn was released pending court.
On March 3:
A report of an underage alcohol party was made at 7:48 p.m. in the W3800 block of Theiler Road in the Town of Jefferson. Mitchell D. Hale, 19, South Beloit, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, and Taylor D. Hawkinson, 19, Brodhead, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana (25 grams or less). Hawkinson and Hale were released pending court.
On March 4:
Austin J. Bates, 20, Monroe, was cited for obstructing an officer and operating without a license (3rd offense) at 3:14 a.m. in the N3400 block of Aebly Road in Monroe. Bates was released pending court. Kayla K. Niedermeier, 19, Juda, was cited for underage alcohol and obstructing. Niedermeier was released pending court. Codie D.W. Mau, 21, Shullsburg, was cited for obstructing an officer. Mau was released pending court.
