Albany Police

ALBANY - Nicole I. Burns, 29, Albany, was cited Monday, March 19 for speeding and driving without vehicle insurance.

• Three juveniles were cited Friday for truancy.

• Benjamin J. Kieler, 47, Mineral Point, was cited Sunday for operating while intoxicated, operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol level and failing to signal a turn.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - During the week of March 18 to 24, there were 49 citizen assists, 23 follow-up calls about incidents, 18 security checks, 12 911 calls, 11 calls for service, 10 vehicle registrations, 10 assists to other agencies, eight traffic stops, six fire calls, six EMS calls and one transport for detox.

On Sunday, March 18:

• Disorderly conduct was reported at 12:08 a.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. Subjects were yelling at each other. Police determined no violation occurred.

• Disorderly conduct involving an altercation between subjects was reported at 2:26 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. The responding officer did not locate the subjects.

• A code violation was reported 2:56 p.m. in the 100 block of Juniper Avenue. A subject was burning leaves. A warning was issued.

• A dog at large was reported at 3:50 p.m. in the 600 block of 9th Street. The dog owner was warned.

On Monday, March 19:

• The theft of a cellphone out of a vehicle was reported at 8:17 p.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Tuesday, March 20:

• Disorderly conduct involving an altercation between two subjects was reported at 7 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. Both were issued warnings.

On Wednesday:

• A Brodhead man, 29, was arrested at 5:51 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue on a warrant issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

• An Albany man, 41, was cited in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue for issuing worthless checks, after police investigated an incident reported the same day.

On Thursday:

• A Janesville man, 46, was cited at 3:18 a.m. in the 2300 block of East 9th Avenue for failure to yield right-of-way at a stop sign.

• A code violation involving a large amount of trash and debris on a property in the 1000 block of 21st Street was reported at 2:32 p.m. The property owner was warned.

• A Brodhead woman, 45, was cited in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue for issuing worthless checks, after police investigated an incident reported March 16.

On Saturday:

• A domestic disturbance was reported at 10:41 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. Upon investigation, no charges were filed.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - On Monday, March 19:

• Police responded for a medical call at 9:19 a.m. in the 1400 block of 2nd Street.

• An unregistered vehicle parked in the 600 block of 1st Street was issued a parking citation at 12:24 p.m.

• Kristine A. Pryor, 44, Belleville, was cited for non-registration of a vehicle and driving with a suspended license at 2 p.m. on 11th Avenue at Wisconsin 69.

• Tyler J. Lueschow, 16, New Glarus, was cited for failure to display license plates at 3:41 p.m. in the 700 block of 3rd Avenue.

• A violation of a no-contact order was reported at 5:06 p.m. on Wis. 69 just south of the village. Police checked and did not find any such order issued by the courts.

• Police responded for a welfare check at 5:18 p.m. in the 1400 block of Wis. 69. It was reported that a male subject in the area was making suicidal statements. He was located and found not to be suicidal. He was given a ride back to his residence in Iowa County.

On Tuesday, March 20:

• At 12:14 p.m., police received several traffic complaints of illegal passing occurring in the 1700 block of 2nd Street at the end of the school day.

• Police were contacted at 5:25 p.m. by a citizen who wanted to talk to an officer about options they had for a relative who is reportedly an alcoholic.

• Anthony B. Gardner, 54, Blanchardville, was cited at 9:02 p.m. for failure to stop at a stop sign on 5th Street and 6th Avenue.

• A missing cat was reported at 10:13 p.m. in the 500 block of 14th Avenue. The caller reported that they suspect a neighbor is eating their cats. While an officer was responding to the call, the officer was advised that the cat had returned home and was OK.

On Wednesday:

• At 12:04 a.m., police checked on a vehicle parked in the Veteran's Park parking lot after park hours. Everything appeared to be OK.

• Police responded at 12:13 a.m. to a request from the Belleville Police Department to borrow a breathalyzer intoximeter to process a subject arrested in Belleville on a charge of operating while intoxicated.

• Police assisted a person with fingerprinting for a citizenship application at 9:10 a.m.

• A suspicious vehicle that frequents an address on 1st Street in the evenings and is at the residence for short periods of time was reported at 10:38 a.m.

• Vandalism was reported at 2:15 p.m. at the Village Hall. The vandalism occurred the previous evening. Subjects had spread feces on the walls and mirror inside the men's restroom. A group of teenagers was seen in the area around the time and are considered suspects.

• Zacheri A. Bratz, 17, Madison, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 6:05 p.m. on 4th Avenue at Railroad Street.

• Dennis C. Schulze, 29, Gratiot, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 6:42 p.m. on Wis. 69 at 6th Avenue.

• Police responded to a 911 call at 8:21 p.m. in the 200 block of 11th Avenue. It was a misdial. Everything was found to be OK.
