Monroe Police

MONROE - Shane R. Moen, 40, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of driving while under the influence of an intoxicant (third offense) at 6:19 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, in the 100 block of North 18th Avenue. He was released to a responsible party. At 10:18 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 2200 block of Haven Lane, where Moen was again arrested, this time on a charge of disorderly conduct. He was jailed.

- Cory D. Bowen, 24, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of driving while under the influence of an intoxicant (first offense) at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, in the 2000 block of 13th Street. He was released pending an appearance in court.

n Officers warned property owners to clear unshoveled sidewalks in the 1500 block of 8th Street, 1400 block of 9th Street and in the 700 and 2400 blocks of 11th Street.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Gary V. McGrath, 41, Monroe, was arrested on a domestic abuse-related charge of disorderly conduct at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, at a residence in the Town of Jefferson. He was jailed.

n Peter J. Knutson, 33, Juda, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, after deputies responded to a disturbance on Washington Street in Juda.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Morgan W. Steger, 23, Benton, reported no injuries and was cited for failure to have control at 8:54 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, after a deputy responded to a one-vehicle accident on Aetna Road in the Town of New Diggings. Steger lost control of his vehicle and hit an embankment. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

- Gene A. Montgomery, 57, South Wayne, was cited for inattentive driving at 2:23 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, after he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing his vehicle to crash on County F in the Town of Fayette. The truck Montgomery was driving veered onto the right shoulder, crossed a private driveway and then hit several small trees before coming to rest in a creek. The truck is owned by Growmark, Inc., and was partially loaded with feed. County F was closed to traffic for several hours as several tow trucks were needed to pull the large truck from the creek bed. Rural Medical Ambulance and the Darlington Fire Department assisted at the accident scene. Montgomery was treated for injuries but declined medical transport.
