MONROE - Christopher L. Sibley, 26, Monroe, was arrested at a residence in the 1400 block of 10th Street at 4:34 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, for several outstanding warrants issued by the Monroe Police Department. He was jailed.
Austyn R. Althaus, 17, Brodhead, was cited for truancy after police were dispatched at 12:36 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, to Monroe Alternative Charter School, 1220 16th Ave. A 16-year-old Monroe girl was referred to Juvenile Intake for habitual truancy.
Two boys, ages 12 and 13, were referred to Juvenile Intake for habitual truancy at 8:34 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Monroe Middle School, 1510 13th St.
Police are beginning an investigation into a check-forging case reported at Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W. The suspect has reportedly been forging a family member's checks at businesses in three or four jurisdictions, including Monroe.
The owner of a rental property in the 1300 block of 10th Street was warned at 2:16 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, to pay for the removal of several large items of trash on the curb, including a couch and tires.
A mother in the 500 block of West 21st Street called police at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, to document an altercation between her son and another boy that occurred at a school bus stop. The mothers of the boys, ages 9 and 10, worked out a system between themselves to keep the boys from fighting. The mother of the offending boy will walk him to the bus stop.
A resident in the 1800 block of 16th Avenue reported at 4:49 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, that a vandal has been cutting the electrical cords to Christmas lights strung up on the house.
The owner of a dog near 25th Avenue and 8th Street was warned to keep the animal on a leash after another dog owner complained at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, that it was loose and aggressive.
An air compressor was found in the intersection of 6th Street and 3rd Avenue and brought to the police station at 8:29 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. To claim, stop by the station or call dispatch at (608) 329-2400.
Police were dispatched to a custody dispute between two parents in the 2300 block of 17th Avenue at 9:12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. Each was accusing the other of not complying with custodial rules. Police suggested they contact their lawyers for advice.

DARLINGTON - On Wednesday, Dec. 5:
Charlie J. Lester, 34, Fox Lake, was arrested after deputies responded at 2:44 a.m. to a business on West Mound View Avenue in Belmont for a report of suspicious activity. He was taken to the Lafayette County Jail for warrants issued by Marathon County.
Jonathan P. Blaser, 22, Shullsburg, was taken from the Dodge County Correctional Institution to Lafayette County for a court hearing at 10:30 a.m. After the hearing, he was returned to Dodge County.
Latasha L. Groom, 25, Platteville, and Jason M. Schumacher, 31, Dubuque, Iowa, were arrested following a traffic stop on Wisconsin 11 in Shullsburg at 12:50 p.m. They were charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia and obstruction. Both were jailed.
A complaint of trespassing was reported at a residence on McCarville Lane in the Town of Kendall at 4:45 p.m.
