MONROE - Police investigated Friday, Dec. 27 a theft of cash, prescription medication and jewelry from a residence in the 1900 block of 7th Street in Monroe. There was no sign of forced entry. A suspect has been named and leads are being followed.
On Saturday, Dec. 28:
Police were called at 12:14 a.m. to an apartment complex in the 1700 block of 30th Avenue to investigate a report that an unknown male had punched holes in the wall in a common hallway. The man was described as a white male, 18 to 20 years old, about 5-foot-6, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black stocking cap and white athletic type shoes. The male was gone when police arrived.
Police were called at 2:17 a.m. to the Friendly Inn Tavern in the 1300 block of 17th Street for a reported large fight in progress. Upon arrival police found the fight had broken up when police sirens were heard. The fighting individuals fled the scene. A man had allegedly been hit with a bottle but also fled the scene. No arrests were made but the incident remains under investigation.
Garrett M. Fox, 21, Monroe, at 2:25 a.m. was arrested and charged for second-offense OWI after police conducted a traffic stop at 15th Avenue and 16th Street on a vehicle that was identified as having allegedly been involved in a tavern fight. Fox was released to a responsible party pending court.
A cellphone found in the 1300 block of 17th Street was brought to the Monroe Police Department at 2:56 a.m. where it may be identified and claimed.
A Shih Tzu dog was found near 6th Street and 17th Avenue at 10:17 a.m. and taken to Monroe Veterinary Clinic. The dog may be claimed there.
Police took a report at 11:09 a.m. that license plates were taken from a vehicle parked in a parking lot in the 100 block of 8th Street.
Bradley M. Proc was cited for retail theft after police were called at 12:26 p.m. to Pick 'n Save at 246 8th St. for a report that employees had chased a male from the store for suspected retail theft. Proc was found in possession of liquor and razor blades allegedly taken from the store. He was released pending court.
Timothy L. Shippy, 28, South Wayne, was cited at 6:27 p.m. for operating after revocation and no proof of insurance after police stopped his vehicle in the 2100 block of 10th Street. He was released pending court.
No arrests were made after police were called at 7:18 p.m. to a disturbance in an apartment complex in the 300 block of 3rd Avenue. Investigation revealed a 67-year-old female had pushed a 19-year-old female. The 67-year-old female was warned.
Jerome E. Bass, 21, Beloit, was arrested on a warrant from the Rock County Sheriff's Department and Javier DeVaunte Long, 23, Monroe, was cited for obstructing an officer after police on patrol observed at 2:23 a.m. a disturbance in front of the Friendly Inn tavern in the 1300 block of 17th Street. Bass was also cited for obstructing an officer after lying about his identity to officers. Both were released pending court.

MONROE - Stephen P. Murray, 45, Blanchardville, was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct after police responded at 8:48 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29 to a report of domestic abuse at a residence in the N8800 block of County J in York Township. Murray was jailed pending court.
Lafayette County Sheriff
DARLINGTON - A deputy responded at 5:06 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29 to Penny Benton Road in White Oak Springs Township for a report of criminal damage to property.

Philip E. Fields, 19, Albany, was arrested Friday, Dec. 27 for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating after suspension, failure to stop at a stop sign and on a Rock County arrest warrant.
