Lafayette County Sheriff
- Marcos Mermudez-Sanchez, 22, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license after deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident on County Shop Road in the Town of Darlington at 10:19 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24. No injuries were reported. Mermudez-Sanchez hit a snowbank, and his vehicle became disabled. The vehicle was towed. Darlington police assisted at the scene.
- Shane W. Holder, 20, Benton, was cited for an expired registration at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, on Bean Street in the Town of Benton.
- Deputies responded to a location on Hill Crest Road in the Town of Argyle at 9:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, for a welfare check on a person who was threatening to harm himself and several other people.
- A gas drive-off was reported at a business on Miner Way in Shullsburg at 2:58 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23.
- A deputy investigated a child custody case on West Catherine Street in Darlington at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25.
Monroe Police
MONROE - Braxton D. Walton, 21, Monroe, was arrested in the 300 block of 4th Street at 6:02 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, on an outstanding warrant issued by the Argyle Police Department. Lafayette County deputies were notified of his arrest and picked him up in Monroe. He was jailed in Darlington on several Lafayette County warrants.
- Zachary A. Bear, 17, Brodhead, was cited at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, for shoplifting a GPS unit, flash drive, USB cord and SD memory card from Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W. The value of the items totals about $158.
- Family members of a 31-year-old woman in the 1200 block of 14th Street called police at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, for help in preventing her from driving since she was intoxicated and demanding the car keys. The situation had been resolved by the time police arrived.
