A citation is pending against a 57-year-old resident in the 2300 block of 14th Avenue for allowing her dogs to get out and run at large around the neighborhood. Police responded to and substantiated neighbors' complaints twice Monday, at 2:45 and 5:36 p.m., and have other recent complaints about the dogs on record.
Police responded to a civil dispute at a residence in the 2200 block of 5th Avenue. The resident was accusing her estranged husband of entering the home without her knowledge. He denied it. Police told them to take their concerns to their attorneys.
A resident to the north of Veolia Environmental Services, 127 7th St., complained of an odor emanating from the transfer station at 4:48 p.m. The officer who responded determined the smell was coming from the other direction, possibly from a nearby cheese plant. Nonetheless, the officer informed an employee at Veolia of the complaint.
In anticipation of the coming snow, police issued property-maintenance warnings to residents to remove vehicles parked on the grass outside homes in the 2400 block of 8th Street and 1100 block of 9th Street and to remove 12 tires and machine parts piled on a driveway in the 1600 block of 6th Street.

MONROE - Travis L. Patterson, 25, New Glarus, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 2:08 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, to a complaint at a residence in the 1200 block of 5th Street in New Glarus. Patterson was jailed pending a cash bond or initial court appearance.
Inocencio Linares-Cuellar, 38, Beloit, was cited for third-offense driving without a valid license after deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the N3200 block of County S in the Town of Sylvester at 4:26 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17.

DARLINGTON - On Monday, Dec. 17:
Deputies assisted in two jail-to-jail transports starting at about 6:30 a.m. Susan R. Helton, 24, South Wayne, was taken from the Grant County Jail to the Lafayette County Jail for a court hearing, and then returned. Richard I. Toay, 37, Rockford, was then taken from the Grant County Jail to the Lafayette County Jail on an active warrant and remains jailed.
Jason M. Schumacher, 31, Dubuque, Iowa, was apprehended on bail jumping charges in Grant County at 11:20 a.m. and transported to Lafayette County, where he remains jailed.
Caleb K. Murphy, 28, South Wayne, was cited for non-registration of a vehicle and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 8:07 a.m. on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Wayne.
Alejandrino Hernandez-Trujillo, 43, Darlington, was cited for driving with a suspended license on Wis. 23 in the Town of Darlington at 2:25 p.m.
Dogs running at large and causing property damage were reported at 6:38 a.m. at a residence on County W in the Town of Monticello.
A deputy responded at 7:13 p.m. to a residence on West Main Street in Benton to assist in a civil dispute.
