MONROE - Cory Alan Funk, 26, Monroe, was arrested in the 600 block of 22nd Avenue after police responded to a report of a domestic dispute at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27. He was jailed on charges of battery and disorderly conduct and on a warrant issued by Lafayette County for unpaid child support. The alleged victim reported Funk struck her. The following day in Green County Circuit Court, his signature bond was set at $1,000. Not guilty charges were entered in the case, and a pre-trial conference is scheduled Oct. 1.

• Lance G. Beutel, 24, Monroe, was cited for allowing dogs to run at large after police responded at 11:50 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, to a complaint that two stray dogs attacked and injured a dog leashed up in a yard in the 1000 block of 11th Street, down the street from Beutel's residence. The leashed dog sustained minor injuries.

On Friday, Aug. 23:

• An officer on patrol at 9:04 a.m. saw a disabled vehicle with scaffolding attached to it blocking the sidewalk in the 800 block of 18th Avenue and warned the owner to move it.

• A 911 caller at 11:17 a.m. reported a 14-year-old boy having control issues in the 1000 block of 4th Avenue West. The boy had calmed down by the time police arrived.

• A 13-year-old boy called 911 from Twining Park at 1:13 p.m. because he was upset. The situation was not an emergency. This is not the first time the boy has unnecessarily called 911, and police warned him about 911 abuse.

• A 9-year-old playing with a cellphone called 911 by mistake at 1:38 p.m. in the 2200 block of 4th Avenue West. There was no emergency.

• A caller at 2:01 p.m. reported that a baby squirrel fell out of a tree nest and onto a residential deck in the 2500 block of 9th Street. Police told the caller to leave the squirrel alone.

• A resident in a trailer park in the 800 block of 8th Street complained at 2:16 p.m. about a neighbor revving a motor. The neighbor was warned to do the revving elsewhere.

• A dog left unattended in a parked vehicle was reported at 3:31 p.m. downtown in the 1600 block of 12th Street.

• A man called 911 at 4:32 p.m. because a person he isn't supposed to have contact with, per bond conditions, showed up where he was. Police advised him to leave.

• A pencil bag with personal items in it was reported lost at 7:21 p.m. in the 1700 block of 16th Street.

• A pedestrian in the 700 block of 8th Avenue called 911 at 8:42 p.m. to report a driver for almost running them over. The driver was located and warned.

On Saturday, Aug. 24:

• A husband in the 200 block of West 23rd Street called at 12:47 a.m. about an argument he was having with his wife because he didn't want her to drive while intoxicated. No one was cited or arrested.

• A resident in the 2800 block of 31th Street called police at 10:03 a.m. to report neighbor kids for throwing "boulders" into his backyard fish pond. While he was calling police, his wife went over and talked with the kids' parents.

• A men's ring was found at 10:35 a.m. at Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W., and brought to the police station, where it may be identified and claimed.

• A man in the 100 block of 8th Street reported a telephone scam at 11:04 a.m. A caller claiming to be with the Federal Reserve told him he had a grant waiting for him and needed to pay $230 to get it. The man did not fall for the scam.

• A wallet was reported lost at 2:38 p.m. in the 2500 block of 13th Street.

• A concerned citizen called 911 at 3:09 p.m. to report seeing a man pushing a motorcycle around Twining Park. No one was cited or arrested.

• Police responded at 10:29 p.m. to a 911 hangup tracked to the 2200 block of Wisconsin 69. The caller was not located, nor was any problem found in the area.

On Sunday, Aug. 25:

• A 911 hangup at 5:46 a.m. from a Freeport number was traced to a woman who alleged another woman threw a brick through a window while she was in Monroe. She refused to give police details.

• Police were dispatched to a report of theft at 9:58 a.m. in the 2300 block of 14th Avenue, but discovered the situation was actually a dispute between family members. Police were again called to the address at 10:51 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, for a report that a teenager shot a BB gun at younger children. No one was arrested or cited.

• A dog bite was reported at 11:23 a.m. A woman being treated for her injuries at the Monroe Clinic ER told police she was bit by a dog the previous day outside Culver's, 252 8th St.

• A naked man was reported at 2:59 p.m. by the basketball court at East School Park, 2200 9th St. He was clothed by the time police arrived. He suffers from a mental condition and takes off his clothes when he gets upset.

• A woman was warned at 4:46 p.m. for having a dog in Twining Park.

• Police responded at 7:56 p.m. to a report of a person who fell outside a downtown tavern. He was extremely intoxicated and had injured himself falling. After he was treated at Monroe Clinic, a family member came to get him.

• Parents in the 500 block of West 21st Street called police at 11:10 p.m. to report their daughter's ex-boyfriend was at their residence annoying them and they wanted him to leave. The ex-boyfriend was gone by the time police arrived.

On Monday, Aug. 26:

• A gas drive-off was reported at 1:17 a.m. at Stop-N-Go, 1607 9th St. The person came back and paid for the gas.

• A friendly stray brown male dog was reported found at 9:26 a.m. in the 2200 block of Haven Lane. The person who found him eventually took him to the Green County Humane Society.

• An amplifier worth $1,600 was reported stolen at 10:45 a.m. from a car in the 2000 block of 9th Avenue. The car's window had been broken. Police are investigating leads.

• Shrubbery that sticks out across the sidewalk in the 1300 block of 28th Avenue was reported at 3:17 p.m. Police talked with the resident, who took care of it.

• Police were called to the 200 block of 3rd Avenue at 4:01 p.m. for a dispute between exes over vehicle use. The matter was civil, not criminal.

• Trash in and around a garage in the 2200 block of 8th Street was reported at 4:10 p.m. The resident was warned.

• Police responded to a 911 misdial at 5:12 p.m. in the 2500 block of 9th Street. The caller meant to dial 611.

On Tuesday, Aug. 27:

• About 40 valve stem caps were reported stolen at 9:20 a.m. from vehicles at Dearth car dealerships in the 600 block of 8th Street. The car parts have a combined value of about $165.

• A female shoplifting from the gift shop at Monroe Clinic, 2002 4th St., was reported at 9:58 a.m. Staff chose not to press charges and told her to leave.

• A dispute between estranged spouses was reported at 10:56 a.m. in the 500 block of West 21st Street. The husband reportedly poured bleach on her clothing in a closet. No one was cited or arrested.

• Vandalism was reported at 1:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of 12th Avenue. A large picture window on a residence had been broken with a rock.

• Police were called to an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend at 7:51 p.m. in the 500 block of West 21st Street. No one was cited or arrested.

• A loud boom was reported by a 911 caller at 9:58 p.m. in the 2000 block of 18th Avenue. The sound was traced to a transformer. Alliant Energy was called in to take care of it.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Elizabeth A. Goninen, 45, Juda, was arrested on a second-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies responded to a traffic complaint at 2:33 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, of an intoxicated driver believed to be en route to the Juda area from Monroe. Deputies located and stopped the vehicle on Wis. 11 at County S in Jefferson Township. Goninen was also cited for driving with a revoked license and failing to maintain her brake lights. She was released to a responsible party pending court.

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, Aug. 27:

• Cory G. Knouse, 25, Monroe, was cited for speeding at 6:27 a.m. on County KK in Gratiot Township.

• Danielle L. Venhuizen, 27, Apple River, was cited for speeding at 6:43 a.m. on County KK in Gratiot Township.

• Tyler R. Pusel, 18, Monticello, was cited for speeding at 7:25 a.m. on County KK in Gratiot Township.

• Debra J. Mammoser, 39, Stockton, was cited for speeding at 7:40 a.m. on County KK in Gratiot Township.

• Dwayne J. Hosp, 49, Brodhead, was cited for passing into oncoming traffic at 10:01 a.m. on Wis. 81 in Seymour Township.

• Grant C. Garvey, 17, Shullsburg, was cited for a seat belt violation and for driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 12:53 p.m. on Wis. 81 in Darlington Township.

• Lindsey K. Gant, 31, Cuba City, was cited for speeding at 3:47 p.m. on County Shop Road in Darlington Township.

• The theft of a bicycle from a residence on South Kennedy Street in Shullsburg was reported at 7:23 p.m. The bicycle was recovered a short time later on East Water Street in Shullsburg.

• A deputy responded to a complaint at 8:15 p.m. of a controlled burn with suspicious items being burned at a location on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg Township. The complaint was deemed unfounded.
