Monroe Police

MONROE - On Tuesday, April 2:

• Alaina L. Thompson, 31, Monroe, was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a yield sign, after police responded at 8:05 a.m. to a two-vehicle accident without injuries at 10th Street and 30th Avenue. Thompson collided with a vehicle driven by Amy M. Uptegraw, 36, Monroe.

• A man in his early 20s called police at 9:02 a.m. to the 200 block of 4th Avenue to complain that his mother was refusing to give him back his CDs. The matter is civil and has since been resolved. He got back his CDs.

• A student at Monroe High School complained at 12:58 p.m. that another student put a bag of sand on the roof of his car, leaving scratches.

• Police are investigating an identity theft reported at 3:20 p.m. in the 700 block of 28th Avenue. An unknown person or people made unauthorized online purchases at Walmart.

• A resident in the 1900 block of 11th Avenue complained at 7:49 p.m. that neighbors were allowing their dogs to run and do their business on her lawn.

• A 24-year-old man was warned for trespassing after a woman reported at 9:38 p.m. that he was on her porch again in the 2000 block of 14th Avenue despite repeated warnings that he not come on her property.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Tuesday, April 2:

• Billy Lee Ellsworth, 27, Brodhead, was arrested at 10:14 a.m. at the Green County Justice Center on a warrant for contempt of court by failure to appear. He was jailed.

• Justin R. Myers, 36, and Carrie Ann Zekoff, 37, both of Gratiot, were arrested after the K-9 team stopped a vehicle at 8:40 p.m. for a traffic infraction on 6th Avenue West at West 7th Street in Monroe. K-9 Ike alerted his partner to an odor of drugs in the vehicle. Myers and Zekoff are charged with possession of materials for manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, abuse of hazardous substances and prohibited acts. Zekoff was also held on a warrant issued by the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay fines. Myers was also cited for non-registration of an auto and driving with a suspended license and without proof of vehicle insurance. Both were jailed pending court.

• Jason J. Morgan, 35, Evansville, was cited for failure to notify police of an accident after deputies responded at 5:17 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash without injuries in the W1200 block of Wisconsin 92 in Brooklyn Township. Jacob C. Zaemisch, 25, Stoughton, was driving a truck eastbound, just west of County E, when Morgan drove up behind him and then passed him. Morgan's passenger side mirror hit Zaemisch's driver's side mirror. Morgan left the scene before law enforcement arrived but was later located.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Tuesday, April 2:

• Jason D. Hocking, 41, Benton, was arrested and jailed on a probation and parole warrant, after a deputy responded at 4:44 p.m. to County K in Darlington Township.

• Toni K. Belhaj, 43, Hazel Green, was cited for speeding at 11:57 a.m. on County J in Benton Township.

• Benjamin M. Wilberding, 21, Cuba City, was cited for speeding at 7:19 p.m. on County W in New Diggings Township.
