Monroe Police

MONROE - Penny M. Bawden, 46, McConnell, was cited for retail theft at 11:06 a.m. Thursday, April 18, at Walmart, 300 6th Ave. W. She allegedly tried to shoplift about $150 in merchandise.

- Police took a complaint at 12:48 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, that someone is putting garbage in a commercial trash container in the 1700 block of 10th Street without the owner's consent.

- A dog owner was warned for allowing the animal to run at large after police responded to a report of a possibly injured dog in the area of 16th Avenue and 23rd Avenue at 5:44 p.m. Wednesday, April 17. The owner told police the dog got out by accident.

- Graffiti, possibly gang-related, was reported in the downtown parking garage at 3:03 a.m. Thursday, April 18.

- Police took a complaint at 10:34 a.m. Thursday, April 18, that someone is putting garbage in a commercial trash container in the 200 block of 10th 1/2 Street without the owner's consent.

- The theft of an umbrella left to dry in the hallway of an apartment building in the 1000 block of 16th Avenue was reported at 4:39 p.m. Thursday, April 18. Juveniles are suspected.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, April 18:

- Cody G. Klein, 23, Platteville, was arrested on a domestic abuse-related charge of disorderly conduct at 11:13 p.m. after deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on County XX in Belmont Township.

- An abandoned vehicle parked in the road on Jefferson Road in Benton Township was towed and impounded at 8:02 a.m. after attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful.

- An antique shotgun was found lying in the road on Ames Road in Darlington Township at 6:45 p.m. The firearm appeared to not be in working order and possibly fell from a vehicle passing through the area. It can be claimed at the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.

- A deputy assisted the Argyle Police Department at 8:15 p.m. with taking a report of a harassment incident that occurred at a residence on Monroe Street in Argyle earlier in the day.
