Paulette W. King, age 64 of Darlington, WI, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born April 18, 1944 in Amery, WI, the daughter of Walter W. and Ruth A. (Sass) Wonzong. Paulette graduated in 1963 from Byron High School in Byron, IL and later received her teaching degree. She lived in Amery until moving to Byron and later to Rockford, IL. In 1991 she moved to Darlington with her family. Paulette was an elementary school teacher and librarian at Rock River Elementary School in Rockford. After moving to Darlington, she worked as a librarian at Johnson Public Library and later as a secretary for Phil Bryson. In 1997 she worked as a supervisor for the Hodan Center in Mineral Point, WI, where she remained until health issues forced her into retirement.

Paulette is survived by her mother, Ruth Wonzong , Rockford; one son, Eric King, Darlington; one grandson, Brian Johnson II at home; two brothers, Randy (Jan) Wonzong, Chico, CA, Stephen Wonzong, Rockford; her former husband, Jim King, Darlington; many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Diane Kliebenstein, Belmont. She was preceded in death by her father in 1966; one son, Michael David and one brother, Michael Wonzong. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Darlington and its WELCA. Paulette enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandson and family. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be June 3, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington with Rev. Carol Johnson of Grace Lutheran Church, Darlington, officiating. Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2008 from 10 a.m. until time of services at Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington.
