Nelson C. Miller age 85 of Albany, Wisconsin died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Woods Crossing in Brodhead. He was born May 2, 1927 at Winslow, Illinois the son of Nelson E. and Julia (Clark) Miller and attended Albany Schools. Nelson served in the United States Army entering at Milwaukee, WI on July 9, 1945 and was discharged at Fort Sheridan, IL on January 5, 1947. He served as a Heavy Truck Driver and received the Army of Occupation Medal "Germany", Victory Medal, Lapel Button, & Overseas Service Bar.

Nelson and Anna L. Cleaveland were married on October 17, 1953 in Brodhead. He worked at the Albany Condensery and at General Motors in Janesville for 32 years. After retiring he was a school bus driver for Albany Schools, custodian at Albany Arms, and volunteered for the VA Hospital. He was a member of UAW Local #95, McDermott Steindorf American Legion Post #144, Zilmer Riley American Legion Post #84, Cecil Jones VFW Post #2312, Monroe Cooties, & 40ET8, Albany Masonic Lodge #36 A&AM, Monroe Commandry, was a 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rites, and Zor Shrine. Nelson served on the Albany Village Board, Albany Fire Department, and was a former member of Janesville Moose Lodge #754.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Miller of Albany; children, Teresa A. Crafford of Menifee, CA, Randal (Peggy) Miller of Albany, & Gary (Margie) Miller of Evansville; grandchildren, Jessica Morones, Jill Morones, Evan Crafford, Lynn Miller, Tamara Miller, & Heather Miller; 8 great-grandchildren; and many Nieces, Nephews, & other relatives. He was predeceased by his Parents; sisters, Eva Sarbacker, Esther Koss, Viola Bandi, Beulah Asmus, Arlene Parker, Luella & Blanche Miller; and brothers, Edward, Harold, & Robert Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe with Pastor Pat Soddy officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany, WI with Military Rites.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Funeral Home with a Masonic Service following.

A Memorial Fund is being established in Nelson's memory.
