Nancy Jane Thorson, age 82, Orfordville, passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 in Woods Crossing, Brodhead.
She was born Sept. 17, 1935 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Harvey and Esther Liefbroer. She was raised by foster mother, Belle Gibson. Growing up Belle provided Nancy with piano, voice and harp lessons. She moved from Sheboygan to Beloit where she was introduced to T. Francis "Tink" Thorson through mutual friends. They were then married on June 21, 1958 in Sheboygan, Wis.
Nancy was an organist for Orfordville Lutheran Church for 52 years. She was an accompanist for all the church choirs. Nancy belonged to the Ladies Circle. She was employed by the Parkview High School in the music department for 16 years. She was a member of the Orfordville Legion Auxiliary and Orfordville Fire Department Auxiliary.
Survivors are her daughter: Debby and son-in law Roger Yaun, Orfordville, step grandchildren: Randy and Jackie Yaun and their children Madisyn and Rielle; and Rachel Yaun; a nephew and nieces: Daron, Ellen, Mary and Gayle; and the family kitties, her companions that she loved so much.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend, and will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held at the Orfordville Lutheran Church at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, with Pastor Andy Twiton officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
Burial will be in Orfordville Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Orfordville Lutheran Church.
