MONROE - In a meeting Wednesday, the City of Monroe Finance & Taxation Committee:
Recommended to Common Council a resolution directing payment of interest on advances from the general fund to pay Tax Incremental Finance District No. 4 project costs.
Discussed building inspection bills from and contract with Building Zone Administration (BZA.) BZA bills, questioned during the council meeting May 18, were returned to council for approval of payment. Committee members voted to revisit the contract with BZA in September during the budget planning process. The current contract splits permit and inspection fees between BZA and the city. BZA pays 80 percent, while the city pays 20 percent.
Reviewed and discussed building permit and inspection fees and requested another meeting with BZA in mid-July to further discuss proposed fee increases.
Discussed upcoming budget process and possibility of changing renewal dates for health stop loss insurance. Members determined no action was needed.
