Mildred A. Stuessy, age 89, of Monroe, died on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on July 4, 1924 in Monticello, the daughter of Rudolph and Fannie (Schaer) Ammon. Mildred and Kenneth J. Stuessy were married on December 19, 1943 at the Swiss United Church of Christ in New Glarus.

She was co-owner of the Monroe Bakery along with John and Hilda Ammon since 1959 until closing; she later worked at the Swiss Alps and Turner Hall.

Mildred was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and Women of the Moose Chapter #599 of Monroe.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (David) Mlsna of Onalaska, brother, John Ammon, sister, Ethel Anding and Marlene (Charles) Williams, grandchildren: Jodi Berend and Jason (Michelle) Mlsna, great-grandchildren: Brock & Kaiya Berend, Reed & Paige Mlsna; and special nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth; daughter, Celia Faye; and brother, Rudy Ammon.

Graveside services will be held July 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Monroe Moose Lodge, 639 3rd Ave., at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mildred's memory.
