Matilda Marr, age 98 of Verona, formerly of Monroe, died Monday, February 27, 2012 at Agrace Hospice Care of Madison. She was born on December 17, 1913 in Garfield, Kentucky, the daughter of Grover and Nellie (Morris) Bruner. She graduated from Breckinridge County High School. Matilda married Raymond B. Marr on December 21, 1936 in Waukegan, Illinois. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church in Monroe.

She is survived by 3 children: Carol (Robert) Torregrossa of Verona, Barbara (Emerson) Garver of Hermitage, MO, and Richard (Sharon) Marr of Newman, GA; a brother, Herman (Idalena) Bruner of Garfield, KY; and a sister, Louise Mercer of South Fulton, TN; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, 4 sisters, and a granddaughter, Debbie Potter.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 2, 2012 at Union Presbyterian Church in Monroe, with Reverend Marilyn Sandlin-Ross officiating. A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be in North Shore Gardens of Memory in North Chicago, Illinois.
