MADISON/MONROE - Mary Kay (Egan-Reynolds) Wehinger, 88, passed away at 8:05 a.m., July 10, 2013 at Agrace Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Kay was born in Eldorado, WI to Leo and Esther Egan, raised in Paoli and Madison, where she raised her 5 children. She graduated from Madison Central High School in 1943.
She worked for a time at Wisconsin Bell and was very involved with the Madison Older Adults Clubs.
Mary Kay married James Edward Wehinger on January 15, 1970 in a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved to his hometown of South Wayne, Wisconsin, where they lived for 35 years. Mary Kay spent time volunteering with music therapy at St. Clare Hospital in Monroe and was employed for 25 seasons at Swiss Colony.
After her husband, Ed, died in 2004, Mary Kay moved to Monroe. In January of 2013 she moved to Madison, to live with her daughter Mary.
Mary Kay was an accomplished musician and singer, who entertained in many venues throughout Madison and Southern Wisconsin.
Mary Kay is survived by her 5 children, Sharon Sites of Madison; Richard (Terri) Reynolds of Monroe; Mary (Carl) Maly of Madison; Edward Anthony (Bette) Reynolds of Monroe; and Joan (Don) Walters of Browntown; 6 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, James Egan, Minnesota; a sister, Madonna Klinefelter, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; her parents; 3 siblings and her ex-husband Tom Reynolds, the father of her 5 children.
Visitation will be at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe, WI, 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Ave. in Monroe, WI on Sunday, July 14 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m..
Mary Kay will be buried on Monday, July 15 at the Union Cemetery in South Wayne following an 11:00 am service at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home.
Hanson Funeral Home of South Wayne is serving the family.
