Margaret J. Tuescher, age 95 of Monroe, died on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on September 11, 1915, the daughter of Albert and Marie (Stadleman) Schlappi. She was a graduate of South Wayne High School. Margaret and Walter Tuescher were married on February 8, 1944, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, at Nashua, Iowa. She worked making cheese with her husband, while raising her family in the South Wayne area. Margaret was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Women of the Moose Chapter #599, and the Antique Wheelers. She enjoyed China painting, and playing cards, but she especially loved spending time and spoiling her grand and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Mary Jane) Tuescher of Monroe, Sue (Lyle) Samson of Monroe, Mary Jo (Roger) Reents of Nekoosa, Joseph (Pam) Tuescher of South Wayne, David (Diane) Tuescher of Clinton, IA, Karen (Mike) Schlichting of Lena, IL; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is predeceased by her husband, Walter and a brother, John Schlappi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church, with Fr. Michael E. Klarer as Celebrant. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home.
