MONROE - A Monroe man was arrested late Thursday, Feb. 23, on what police say is his sixth offense of driving while intoxicated.
Jason L. Wendler, 33, was stopped at 11:38 p.m. for driving in the wrong direction on a one way, the 1500 block of 11th Street. The officer saw signs of intoxication, according to Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley, and conducted field sobriety tests. Blood test results are pending.
Wendler was also cited for driving against traffic on a one-way street. He was jailed pending court.
Wisconsin court records indicate Wendler has been convicted on drunk driving charges stemming from arrests in April 1997 and in September and October 2000.
