MONROE - A Juda man arrested March 3 stood mute Thursday in Green County Circuit Court for drug charges.
Benjamin L. Hass, 24, is charged with manufacturing and delivering marijuana, a class F felony, bail jumping, a class A misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an unclassified misdemeanor. He faces more than 13 years in prison and more than $35,000 in fines, if convicted.
The court entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf, and scheduled a May 4 district attorney conference.
He remains free on a $1,500 signature bond.
Hass was arrested by State Line Area Narcotics Team at about 7:15 a.m. March 3, at his home, W2940 Washington St., Juda.
Officers seized more than 100 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, growing lights, fans, fertilizers, pots, irrigation material, remnants of previously harvested plants and a variety of other items used to manufacture marijuana.
The marijuana found in his home was estimated to be worth about $100,000.
In 2006, he was convicted of manufacturing and delivering marijuana in Rock County Circuit Court. He was sentenced to six months in jail.
