Mae L. Sandley, 96, a resident of Oakley Courts, died Friday, April 9, 2010 in F.H.N. Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 17, 1914 in Argyle, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ben and Carrie (Hendrickson) Knouse.

On December 17, 1932 she married Byron Sandley in Galena, Illinois. He died January 1, 1973.

Mrs. Sandley worked for Newell Company for 28 years. She was a member of the Newell Twenty Year Club and was also a member of Zion C.C.C.C. Church, Freeport.

She is survived by her brother, Glenn (Julene) Knouse of Monroe, Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Marie Knouse and Sharon Knouse, both of Monroe, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter at birth, four brothers and five sisters.

A funeral service for Mrs. Sandley will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, in Zion C.C.C.C. Church, Freeport. Rev. Gardy Cronk, pastor, will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport.

A memorial has been established for Zion C.C.C.C. Church, Freeport.
