Lucille A. Howard, age 83 of Monroe, died Friday, January 2, 2015 at Azura Memory Care. She was born on July 17, 1931, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Burgess) Howard. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1949, and later from St. Agnes Nursing School in Fond Du Lac, WI. She worked as a registered nurse in LaCrosse, WI, Los Angeles, CA, but mostly in Casper, WY. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish. Lucille enjoyed her work, writing, watching TV, going to Church, and her trips to Dubuque.
She is survived by a sister, Grace Sullivan of Humbolt, TN; a brother-in-law, Werner Weissenfluh of Monroe; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Jane Kuhlman, Ruth Nelson, Juanita Olson, Hazel Weissenfluh, and Mary Bandi; brothers-in-law, Bill Kuhlman, Paul Nelson, Emil Bandi and Earl Sullivan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish, at St. Victor Catholic Church, with Fr. Larry Bakke presiding. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Darlington. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service, at the Church. The family would like to thank Monroe Clinic Hospice and Azura Memory Care. Memorials may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Parish or the Alzheimer's Association.
