LoWanna B. Dooley, age 72 of Monroe, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Woods Crossing in Brodhead, after a courageous battle with Leukemia. She was born on June 11, 1936, the daughter of Clarence and Marietta (Kruse) Buckner. She is a graduate of West Chicago High School. LoWanna and Richard Dooley were married on April 30, 1996 in Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, dancing and fishing.
LoWanna is survived by her husband, Richard of Monroe; son, Jeff (Karen) Lange of Lake of the Hills, IL; daughters, Brenda (Kevin) Weires of Pecatonica, IL, Andrea Hamm of Rockford, IL; six grandchildren, Justin Boyer, Aaron and Celsey Weires, Herb IV and Ashley Hamm and Jeffery Lange; one great-grandchild, Caleb Boyer; brother, Gary (SumCha) Buckner of Texas; also survived by step-children; nieces; nephews; and other relatives. She is predeceased by her parents; sister, Dawn Vogel; and a brother, Dave.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. David Busker, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, all at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Monroe Clinic Hospice, in LoWanna's memory.
