Louise Stricker

Louise (Bliss) Stricker, 90, of Monroe, formerly of Brodhead, passed away on June 6, 2009, at Angelus Retirement Center. Louise was born in Meiringen, Switzerland, on April 9th, 1919; the daughter of Andrew Schild and Margaret Kohler. She married John Stricker November 19, 1971, in Monroe. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Louise enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing cards and traveling. Especially her pancake with strawberries and cream at The Red Apple.

She is survived by a daughter, Judy (Virgil) Keller of Orfordville, and a son, Phil (Laura) Bliss of Pennsylvania. Stepdaughters: Judy (Peter) Wilhemi of Texas, Bonnie (Ed) Gerner of New Glarus and stepson, Jim (Linda) Stricker of Monroe. 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons and 7 stepgrandchildren. She is further survived by sisters, Anne Dickson of Monticello and Emma Shaw of Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant sister, husband John, brothers: Adolf, Andrew and Fritz Schild. Sisters, Bertha Dickson and Margaret Hartwig.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Greenwood Cemetery, with Rev. Gretchen Sylvester officiating. Memorials may be given in Louise's name to either, St. John's U.C.C. or Monroe Clinic Hospice. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke funeral home is assisting the family.
