Louise A. Spring passed into eternity on April 7, 2017 at her home in Albany, WI. She was born in Spring Valley Township in Rock County to Louis and Teresa (Teale) Nipple on July 8, 1935.
She began her elementary education in Brodhead and then attended one room schools at Searles and Peebles rural schools. She graduated from Albany High School in 1953 and then furthered her education at Green County Normal, studying elementary education. In 1955 she began her teaching career at Fairview School in Mt. Pleasant Township. After four years at Fairview, she then taught three more years at Attica before moving into the Albany School system where she taught 2nd grade for one year and kindergarten for 27 years, before retiring. While teaching she furthered her education through summer school and night school and received her B.A. from UW Platteville in 1962.
She married Glen A. Spring in Brodhead in 1954 and they enjoyed 62 years of sharing each other. While all this was happening she always found time to volunteer. She was one of the people who helped establish the Village of Albany Housing Authority and for 50 years was involved in the everyday management. She also delivered "Meals on Wheels" and volunteered many hours helping at the Library with summer reading programs. After all this she always managed to send a card to anyone who needed a lift or to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. She was an excellent shopper and always seemed able to find a garage sale or thrift store. She especially enjoyed taking her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren "back to school" or birthday shopping. She loved music and enjoyed dancing to her favorite country music band. She also rode with her husband through many states on the back of their Harley. She also went to Mexico with her husband and other Lions members where she spent 25 plus missions putting eye glasses on those in need.
Upon her retirement, she kept in shape with her morning walks throughout Albany, and it is estimated the she jogged approximately 7,500 miles. While walking she always had a smile and a wave for all those she passed.
After a lifetime of giving, she is leaving behind those she loved most including her husband, Glen; daughter, Jolene (Bryce) Adcock; grandsons, Josh (Tara) Disch, children, Jack and Macy; Justin (Hannah) Disch, children, Karlye, Jordan and Sasha; brother, Dave Nipple; and thousands of friends and acquaintances.
She was predeceased by her parents; and two sons, Jody in 1960 and Joel in 1964.
In lieu of flowers, she requests any memorials go to the Albany Community Scholarship or Albertson Memorial Library.
A time for final goodbyes is scheduled for Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Albany Lions Building, with private family interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Albany.
Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.
