Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On July 27:

●  Evan R. Dorn, 25, New Glarus, reported no injuries after colliding with a tree in the road at 8:38 a.m. in the N8200 block of Zentner Road, Town of New Glarus. His vehicle sustained functional damage. He was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of drugs as well as charges of resisting an officer and criminal damage to property. He was cited for inattentive driving. He was released pending court after posting bond. New Glarus Township removed the tree. 

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 5:03 p.m. July 29 on the W7000 block of Wis. 39, Town of New Glarus. Troy P. Krueger, 38, Blanchardville, was eastbound when a westbound vehicle driven by David L. Chaffee Jr., 55, Blanchardville, crossed the centerline and side-swiped his vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Chaffee was cited for driving left of center.

DARLINGTON —  On July 14:

●  Rose M. Shriver, 57, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 8:45 p.m. on County S, Town of Willow Springs. No injuries were reported. Her 2018 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage.

On July 15:

●  A one-vehicle accident was reported at 9:47 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Blanchard. Alexander R. Bredeson, 17, Blanchardville was northbound when he swerved to miss a deer, causing his vehicle to exit the roadway, roll over and come to rest in the ditch. The 2004 Chevrolet sustained severe damage. It was towed. Blanchardville EMS and the Blanchardville Fire Department assisted on scene.

On July 16:

●  Ryan M. Rygh, 30, South Wayne, reported hitting a deer at 6:24 p.m. on County Y, Town of Wiota. No injuries were reported. His 2016 Volkswagen received moderate damage.

On July 17:

●  Britnie E. Bender, 24, Asbury, Iowa, reported hitting a deer at 8:17 a.m. on County W, Town of New Diggings. No injuries were reported. Her 2019 Kia sustained severe damage. It was towed.

On July 19:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 8:15 p.m. on Furnace Hill Road, Town of Willow Springs. Gerson E. Gamarro-Pablo, 18, Darlington, was westbound on Short Cut Road when he lost control of his 2006 Honda, which hit the ditch, a culvert and a fence before coming to rest against a tree. The Honda sustained severe damage. It was towed. Gamarro-Pablo was cited for failure to maintain control, driving too fast for conditions, no vehicle insurance and driving without a valid license.

On July 21:

●  Jon M. Sperry, 55, Warren, Illinois, reported hitting a deer at 8:30 p.m. on County W, Town of Shullsburg. His 2018 Dodge received moderate damage. 

●  Beyanca A. Ruiz, 20, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited for non-registration of a vehicle and driving without a license at 5:57 a.m. after her vehicle went into the ditch on County W, Town of Gratiot. The 2013 Volkswagen sustained severe damage. It was towed.

●  A two-vehicle accident was reported at 3:05 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. Trent A. Hale, 26, Fitchburg, was southbound when he crossed the centerline and collided with a northbound vehicle driven by Brent D. Reddington, 46, Shullsburg. Hale’s 2019 Ford truck, owned by EAN Holdings and Reddington’s 2006 Peterbilt milk truck, owned by Sperry Trucking, received severe damage. Both trucks were towed. The Darlington Fire Department, Green County EMS of Darlington, Wisconsin State Patrol and Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative assisted. Both drivers were transported to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County for minor injuries.

On July 25:

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 4:32 p.m. on East Platteville Avenue in Belmont. Wesley W. Berget, 18, Mineral Point, failed to yield right-of-way for a semi driven by Alex C. Wileman, 22, Edgerton, as Berget was turning left. Berget’s 2011 Buick sustained severe damage and was towed. The 2015 Peterbilt owned by Wileman Trucking, LLC received minor damage.
