Monroe Police

On September 27:

● At 7:10 a.m., officers arrested William D. Gallagher, 41, Three Rivers, MI, in the 2000 block of 4th Street. Gallagher was charged with disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws. Gallagher was confined in the Green County Jail and later released after posting bail pending a court appearance. 

On September 28:

● At 11:57 p.m., officers were called to a business in the 400 block of 8th Street, for a report of a suspicious vehicle at that location. An investigation led to the arrest of Jamie A. Coogan, 50, Mineral Point, on charges of possession of tetrahydrocannabinols (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Coogan was also taken into custody on an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole on a probation violation. Coogan was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.

On September 30:

● At 1:27 a.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling the wrong way on a divided highway in the 800 block of State Highway 69. Officers subsequently conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, Alek A. Konopacki, 24, Colorado Springs, CO, on charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-1st offense, and also with operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration of more than .15. Konopacki was also cited for driving the wrong way on a divided highway, and was released to a responsible person pending a court appearance.


Green County Sheriff

● At 3:25 p.m., Deputies responded to the W5100 block of County Highway W, in the Town of New Glarus for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Jennifer R. Huebner, 33 of New Glarus was traveling westbound. Huebner reported entering the gravel shoulder of the roadway and losing control. The vehicle left the roadway and entered a cornfield before coming to rest. Huebner and her passenger reported no injuries, were wearing their seatbelts, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.

On September 24:

● At 11:41 a.m., Deputies responded to the W800 block of State Highway 92, in the Town of Brooklyn for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Garrett D.A. Wyss, 32 of Brooklyn was traveling westbound when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a utility pole. Wyss reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. Investigation resulted in Wyss being cited for Inattentive Driving. Wyss was released pending court.


Monticello Police

On September 15:

● At approximately 9:05 a.m., Officers received a report of a motor vehicle crash, property damage only, in the alley of the 200 block of N. Main Street.  It was reported that on the prior day a commercial motor vehicle had struck a TDS box.  The caller was instructed on how to complete a motor vehicle crash self-report form.  There were no injuries reported. It was found delivery trucks can’t make the turn with a vehicle parked at the T-intersection coming out of the alley at E. Highland Avenue. No parking signs are being recommended to the Public Safety Committee.  

On September 20:

● At approximately 8:14 a.m., Officers issued three citations for burn-outs at three different locations.  Dustin A. Trumpy, 29, of Monticello was cited for Disorderly Conduct with a Motor Vehicle in the 200 block of N. Main Street, the 100 block of W. Highland Drive, and the 100 block of Staedtler Ave.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
