Green County Sheriff

On January 9:

● At 3:35 a.m., Deputies responded to the N5900 block of State Highway 104, in the Town of Albany for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Kyle C. Wilke, 27 of Durand, was traveling northbound, when Wilke lost control due to the snowy road conditions. The vehicle then entered the west ditch, where it collided with a utility pole before coming to rest. Wilke reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Investigation resulted in Wilke being cited for Failure to Control Vehicle and Operating after Suspension of Registration. Wilke was released pending court.

● At 10:34 a.m., Deputies along with Brodhead Fire Department, and Brodhead EMS responded to the W400 block of State Highway 81, in the Town of Spring Grove, for a single vehicle crash with injuries. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Sierra N. Goddard, 27 of Freeport, was traveling westbound when she lost control due to the snowy road conditions. The vehicle then entered the ditch and collided with a culvert before coming to rest. Goddard sustained non-life-threatening injuries, was wearing her seatbelt, and the airbags did deploy. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and remained on scene pending a tow. The Brodhead Police Department assisted at the scene.

● At 1:27 p.m., Deputies along with Monticello Fire Department, and New Glarus EMS responded to the W3500 block of County Highway EE, in the Town of Mt Pleasant, for a single vehicle rollover crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Elvin Rodriguez-Perez, 44 of Evansville, was traveling eastbound when he lost control due to the snowy road conditions. The vehicle then entered the ditch and overturned. Rodriguez-Perez reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did deploy. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and remained on scene pending a tow.

● At 3:07 p.m., Deputies responded to the W6500 block of State Highway 11, in the Town of Monroe, for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Amy L. Holst, 35 of Monroe, was traveling eastbound when she lost control due to the icy road conditions. The vehicle then entered the south ditch where it collided with a fence before coming to rest. Holst reported no injuries, was wearing her seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.

On January 10:

● At 12:03 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for unsafe lane deviation in the W3200 block of STH 11, in the Town of Sylvester. The investigation resulted in the driver, Elizabeth Salazar, 19, of Beloit, being placed under arrest for Operating while under the Influence (first offense – drug related).  Salazar was additionally cited for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Salazar was later held at the Green County Jail pending a release to responsible party and a future mandatory court date.

On January 11:

● At 12:31 a.m., Deputies responded to the W2700 block of CTH EE, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a single vehicle crash.  The driver, Ashley L. Kierna, 35, of Monticello, said that she was traveling westbound when she lost traction due to snow covered roads, spun facing eastbound, and then entered the north ditch.  Kierna advised she was uninjured and wearing her seatbelt.  Kierna’s vehicle sustained functional damage to the front and rear end with no airbag deployment.  Kierna’s vehicle was towed from the ditch and she later drove it from the scene.  

● At 9:55 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 104 & CTH C, in the Town of Brooklyn, for a two vehicle crash.  Kyle A. Roate, 29, of Poynette, advised he was traveling southbound behind Matthew R. Greenheck, 52, of Sauk City, when Greenheck had been waiting for a vehicle to turn in front of him.  Roate said that he could not stop in time and then struck the rear end of Greenheck’s vehicle.  Roate and Greenheck advised they were uninjured and wearing their seatbelts.   Greenheck’s vehicle sustained disabling damage to the rear end and was towed from the scene.  Roate’s vehicle sustained functional damage to the front end and was driven from the scene.  Roate was later cited for driving too fast for conditions and released with a future court date.

● At 4:55 p.m., Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6th St., in the City of Monroe, to assist the Department Corrections Agents.  Dakota C.J. Lorenz, 30, of Monroe, was later placed under arrest for a Probation Violation.   Lorenz was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

On January 12:

● At 4:39 p.m., Deputies along with the Monticello Fire Department responded to the 100 block of State Highway 69, in the Village of Monticello for a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Tristan L.H. Putman, 34 of Madison, was traveling southbound when he lost control due to the snowy road conditions. The vehicle then entered the west ditch and collided with a guide wire for a utility pole before coming to rest. Putman reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.


Lafayette County Sheriff

On January 2:

● 9:10 a.m. A deputy responded to Main ST, City of Darlington to assist Darlington Police with a two vehicle accident.

● 8:12 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Darlington Township for a vehicle in the ditch. As a result, Ivan A Cruz, 41, Darlington was cited for Operating without License. Cruz’s 2008 Chevrolet received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

On January 3:

● 9:45 a.m. A deputy responded to Short Cut RD, Willow Springs Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

On January 4:

● 8:07 a.m. A deputy responded to N Warren ST in the Village of South Wayne for a minor two vehicle accident. Barbara A Saunders, 82, Warren, IL was traveling eastbound on STH 11 in a 2005 Cadillac when she turned south onto N Warren ST, failing to see Rosann H Markese, 86, South Wayne traveling north on N Warren ST in her 2012 Ford. Saunders turned in front of Markese, causing an accident. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene with moderate damage.

● 9:30 p.m. Katherine M Heimann, 20, Dubuque was cited for Speeding and Underage person Transporting Intoxicants on CTH W, White Oak Springs Township.

On January 5:

● 6:41 a.m. Nicole M Stilson, 22, Monroe reported striking a deer on STH 23, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported. Stilson’s 2017 Chevrolet received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

● 12:11 p.m. A deputy responded to Clay ST, City of Darlington with Shullsburg Police to assist Darlington Police with threats. As a result, Robert W Axton, 42, Shullsburg was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Unlawful Use of a Telephone. He was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released.

● 3:11 p.m. Deputies responded to Center Drive RD, Elk Grove Township for a two vehicle accident. John E Dunlavy, 55, Mineral Point was traveling in his 2019 Dodge where he failed to yield to an oncoming 1996 Peterbilt driven by Steven F Kamps, 62, Belmont. Minor injuries were reported. As a result, Dunlavy was cited for Failure to Yield Right Away, and Kamps was cited for No Proof of Insurance. Kamps’ 1996 Peterbilt received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Platteville Fire Department and Southwest Health EMS assisted on scene.

● 11:44 p.m. Belmont Fire Department responded to 102 W Mound View AV, Village of Belmont for a fuel spill.

On January 6:

● 6:54 a.m. Lafayette County EMS and Darlington Fire Department responded to STH 23, Darlington Township for a one vehicle accident. Nikole F Tisdale, 25, Muscoda lost control of her vehicle resulting in a rollover. Tisdale was transported to the hospital with injuries sustained in the accident and her 2006 Toyota received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Darlington Police and a deputy assisted on scene.

● 12:41 p.m. Yury E Soto-Mejia, 26, Darlington was traveling on Galena ST, City of Darlington where she was cited for Failure to Stop at Stop Sign. A deputy assisted on scene.

● 1:45 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, Darlington Township for a one vehicle accident.

On January 8:

● 6:24 a.m.  Juvenal Munoz, 55, Cottage Grove reported striking a deer on STH 23, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported and Munoz’s 2017 Chevrolet received severe damage and was towed from the scene.

On January 9:

● 5:36 a.m. Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS responded to E Cornelia ST in the City for a house fire. Darlington Police and Mineral Point Fire assisted on scene.

● 6:06 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Gratiot Township for a vehicle in the ditch.


Monticello Police

On January 7:

● At approximately 2:13 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation in the 300 block of N. Main Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Kyle D. Judd, 24, of New Glarus was arrested for an Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-1st Offense. Judd was also cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration (PAC) and Failure/Improper Stop at a Stop Sign. Judd was released to a responsible person.
