● 11:56 p.m. Fernando Ruiz-Carapia, 28, Madison was arrested for Operating without a License and cited for Possession of THC, on STH 126, Belmont Township. Ruiz-Carapia was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released on a signature bond.

● 10:49 p.m. A deputy responded to W Mound View Av, Village of Belmont to assist the Belmont Police Department with a disorderly conduct. 

On Jan. 8:

● 2:31 a.m. A deputy responded to W Mound View Av, Village of Belmont to assist the Belmont Police Department with a disorderly conduct. 

● 2:34 a.m. Deputies responded to Center Drive Rd, Town of Elk Grove for a check welfare.  Belmont EMS assisted on scene. 

● 3:33 a.m. A deputy came encountered a disabled vehicle on STH 126, Elk Grove Township. As a result, Luis Valerio-Lopez, 22, Shullsburg was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated.  

● 6:40 a.m. David W McDonald, 57, Darlington reported striking a deer on Riverside Rd, Darlington Township. McDonald’s 2016 Toyota received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 9:33 a.m. Deputies responded to STH 81, Lamont Township to assist with traffic control. 

● 1:35 p.m. A deputy responded to Miner Way, City of Shullsburg for a theft complaint.  

● 2:51 p.m. South Wayne First Response and Green County EMS responded to S Galena St, Village of South Wayne for a medical emergency. 

● 3:19 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 78, Gratiot Township for a one vehicle accident. Dale N Waterman, 31, Warren IL was traveling on STH 78 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing the vehicle to exit the roadway, enter the ditch and strike a pole. Waterman was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated and cited for Failure to Maintain Control.  Waterman’s 2005 Dodge received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Warren EMS, Alliant Energy, Gratiot Fire Department and Gratiot First Response assisted on scene. No injuries were reported. 

● 4:52 p.m. Eric C Holmes, 25, Blanchardville reported striking a deer on Nall Rd, Argyle Township. Holmes’ 2019 Ford received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 4:56 p.m. Argyle EMS and Woodford First Response responded to Thor Ln, Town of Wiota for a medical emergency. 

● 9:43 p.m. A deputy responded to Riverside Rd, Town of Wiota for a check welfare. 

● 10:20 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 78, Wiota Township for a one vehicle accident. September J Luebke, 33, Warren IL was traveling on STH 78 when she lost control of her vehicle causing it to strike a wall.  Leubke was cited for No Insurance. Leubke’s 2000 Pontiac received moderate damage and was towed from the scene.  No injuries were reported. 

● 10:32 p.m. A deputy responded to Bridge St, Village of Gratiot for a disabled vehicle.

● 11:42 p.m. Kami J Adolf, 35, Dubuque IA was arrested by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office on two valid Lafayette County warrants.  Adolf was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where she remains in custody.

● 6:46 p.m. Deputies responded to Monroe St, Village of Argyle to assist the Monroe Police Department.  As a result, Patrick J Allen, 30, Monroe was arrested for Battery and Disorderly Conduct.  Allen was transported to the Green County Jail. 

● 9:30 p.m. Alexander T Ortez-Martinez, 21, Platteville was cited for Operate without Valid License (1st) and Passenger, Maynor Pena-Martinez, 19, Darlington was cited for Permit Unauthorized Person to Driver on STH 11, Village of South Wayne. 

● 10:47 p.m. A deputy responded to Crawford Ln, Village of Hazel Green for a suspicious activity complaint. 

On Jan. 17:

● 11:28 a.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to W Water St, City of Shullsburg for a medical emergency. 

● 12:22 p.m. A deputy responded to Whaley Ct, Village of Benton for a check welfare. 

● 1:27 p.m. A deputy responded to Center Drive Rd, Town of Elk Grove for a check welfare.  

● 4:12 p.m. Deputies responded to Saint Peters Rd, Town of Seymour for an accident involving a vehicle and bus. Kyle D Soderstrom, 26, Mineral Point was traveling northbound on Prairie Rd and failed to stop at a stop sign causing his vehicle to hit the bus heading westbound on Saint Peters Rd, driven by Roger L Andrews, 66, Belmont. Darlington Fire Department and Lafayette County EMS assisted on scene. Soderstrom’s 2003 Dodge received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The 2015 bus owned by Belmont School District received minor damage and was driven from the scene. No injuries were reported. Soderstrom was cited for Failure to Stop at Stop Sign. 

● 5:09 p.m. Shirley Rix, 65, Darlington was cited for Non-Registration of Vehicle on STH 126, Town of Belmont.  

● 5:18 p.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Belmont Township to assist the Grant County Sheriff’s Office with a check welfare. 

● 9:26 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH DD, Wayne Township for a disabled vehicle. 

● 10:19 p.m. Deputies responded to STH 81, Elk Grove Township to assist with a traffic stop.  Belmont Police Department assisted.

 On Jan. 18:

● 3:58 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH K, Darlington Township, for an injured animal in the roadway.

● 9:18 a.m. A deputy assisted Blanchardville Police Department with a traffic stop on Locust ST in the Village of Blanchardville.

● 5:00 p.m. Deputies assisted Benton Police Department with a welfare check on Whaley CT in the Village of Benton.

On Jan. 19:

● 1:33 a.m. Travis J. Burbach, 47, Machesney Park, IL, was cited for Passing on a Hill or Curve on STH 11, Shullsburg Township.

● 3:42 a.m. A deputy responded to a one vehicle rollover on STH 23, Gratiot Township.  Javier Zopiyactle-Tlehuactle, 24, Darlington, was southbound when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the centerline, entered the ditch and rolled down an embankment. Minor injuries were reported and Zopiyactle-Tlehuactle’s 2007 Dodge received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. As a result, Zopiyactle-Tlehuactle was cited for Operating without a Valid License and No Insurance. Darlington Police Department, Gratiot Fire Department, Gratiot First Response, Lafayette County EMS, and Green County EMS assisted.

● 6:04 a.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to CTH A, Monticello Township, for a medical emergency.

● 6:38 a.m. Kerry A. Coppes, 44, Shullsburg, reported striking a deer on STH 11, Shullsburg Township. No injuries were reported and Coppes’ 2014 Chevrolet received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

● 8:11 a.m. A deputy responded to a one vehicle accident on STH 11, Gratiot Township. Hannah D. Tapp, 29, Rockford, IL, was westbound when she lost control of her vehicle causing it to leave the roadway, enter the north side ditch, travel through a wooded area, before coming to rest. Slippery road conditions were a contributing factor. No injuries were reported and Tapp’s 2014 Dodge received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. 

● 9:19 a.m. Deputies responded to W Center ST in the Village of South Wayne for a juvenile problem. Green County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.

● 11:12 a.m. A deputy responded to Stuart RD, Wiota Township, for a 911 misdial.

● 11:39 a.m. A deputy responded to E Center ST in the Village of South Wayne for a welfare check.

● 12:47 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, New Diggings Township, for a 911 misdial.

● 4:30 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, Darlington Township, for a 911 misdial.

● 5:42 p.m. Deputies assisted Platteville Police Department on Wood ST in the Village of Belmont.

● 7:14 p.m. Kerry L. Lattin, 45, Darlington, reported striking a deer on W Dobbs RD, Darlington Township.  No injuries were reported and Lattin’s 2019 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 7:43 p.m. David E. Forbes, 49, Atchison, KS, was cited for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign on CTH XX, Belmont Township.

● 11:39 p.m. A deputy assisted Darlington Police Department with a keep the peace on Madison ST in the City of Darlington.


Brodhead Police

On Jan. 10:

● 10:36 a.m., Police responded to the 800 block of E 3rd Ave. for the report of a Code Violation; dog feces on the sidewalk. Police checked the area but did not locate any violation. 

On Jan. 11:

● 8:21 a.m., Police responded to the 2500 block of W 5th Ave. for the report of Truancy. Contact was made and a warning was issued.

● 1:00 p.m., Police responded to the 2500 block of W 5th Ave. for the report of Truancy. This matter has been resolved. 

● 1:43 p.m., Police responded to the 2500 block of W 5th Ave. for two reports of Truancy. Contact was made and warnings were issued.

On Jan. 12:

● 2:09 p.m., Police responded to the 1200 block of 17th St. for the report of Fraud; a stolen credit card used to purchase items. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 8:35 p.m., Police responded to the E300 block of 23rd St. for Suspicious Activity; a vehicle with a door left open. The owner was contacted and it was determined to be an oversight; no other suspicious activity was located.

On Jan. 14:

● 4:32 p.m., Officer responded to the 300 block of E 10th Ave. for the report of Littering. Contact was made and a warning was issued.

● 9:06 p.m., a 24 year old Albany man was cited in the 2100 block of 1st Center Ave. for Non-registration of Auto.

On Jan. 16:

● 8:04 a.m., Police responded to the 1400 block of E 7th Ave. for a Parking Violation; a semi off the truck route. Contact was made and a warning was issued. 

● 4:13 p.m., a 31 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 1000 block of 21st St. for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

On Jan. 17:

● 10:35 a.m., Police responded to the 1200 block of E 3rd Ave for the report of Suspicious Activity; subject entered residence and then walked back out. Officers patrolled area but were unable to locate the subject. 

● 2:43 p.m., a Brodhead juvenile was arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Substantial Battery following a physical altercation in the 2500 block of W 5th Ave.    ● 1:46 p.m., a subject called dispatch advising of a spam call wanting a donation to be made. The caller advised no personal identifying information was given; case was generated for informational purposes. 

● 5:19 p.m., Police responded to the 700 block of E 3rd Ave for the report of a Theft; theft of catalytic converter. This matter remains under investigation.  

● 6:44 p.m., a 31 year old Monroe man was cited in the 500 block of 1st St for No Insurance on a Motor Vehicle.

● 8:18 p.m., Police responded to the 1100 block of 1st Center Ave for the report of Trespassing; unwanted subject at business. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 9:25 p.m., Police responded to the 100 block of Cedar Ave for the report of vehicle driving on wrong way of,road and throwing trash out of window. This matter remains under investigation. 

On Jan. 18:

● 8:46 a.m., Police responded to the 1100 block of 1st Center Ave for the report of Vandalism; spray paint on side of building and sidewalk. This matter remains under investigation. 

● 12:40 p.m., a 32 year old Beloit man was arrested in the 1000 block of 19th St on valid warrants from Probation and Parole, Rock County Sheriff’s Office & Beloit Police Department. 

On Jan. 19:

● 10:00 a.m., Police responded to the 1600 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog at large. The owner was contacted and a warning was issued.

On Jan. 20:

● 8:01 a.m., Police responded to the 2100 block of 1st Center Ave. for the report of a Traffic Crash; a vehicle backed into another vehicle. Due to this occurring on private property and was a non-reportable crash, no citations were issued. 

● 12:09 p.m., Police responded to the 1000 block of W Exchange St. for the report of a Traffic Crash; a vehicle backed into another vehicle. A warning for unsafe backing was issued. 


Monroe Police

On Jan. 30:

● At approximately 3:44 p.m. Officers responded to the intersection of 2nd Street and State Highway 69, for a two vehicle crash with no reported injuries. Investigation revealed George W. Kint,93,Monroe was westbound on 2nd Street at the stop sign of State Highway 69. George stopped and then continued into the intersection where his vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle operated by Nathan N. Strahm Jr.,35, New Glarus. Both vehicles sustained damage. George’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Nathan’s vehicle was driven from the scene. George was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign and released pending court. 


Monticello Police

On Dec. 19:

● At approximately 3:28 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a parking complaint. A parking citation for violation of the 24-hour No Parking ordinance was issued. The vehicle was also marked for being towed. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
