On January 12:

● At 5:20 p.m., Deputies responded to the W3200 block of Wis. 11, in the Town of Sylvester, for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed a vehicle operated by Christopher H. Chisom, 48 of Rock City, was traveling eastbound when he lost control due to the snowy road conditions. The vehicle then entered the south ditch and came to rest. A second eastbound vehicle operated by Paul W. Keintz, 20 of Brodhead, entered the south ditch and collided with Chisom’s vehicle. Both operators reported no injuries, were wearing their seatbelts, and the airbags did not deploy. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.

On January 14:

● At 5:45 p.m., Deputies responded to the W2100 Wis. 92, in the Town of Brooklyn, for a reported single-vehicle crash with no injuries. The driver, Jaydan M. Hummel, 19, of Monticello, advised she was traveling eastbound when her vehicle lost traction and she entered the north ditch. Hummel advised she was uninjured and wearing her seatbelt. Hummel’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.

At 6:44 p.m., Deputies responded to the N7600 block of CTH N, in the Town of New Glarus, for a reported single-vehicle crash. The driver, Tylor J. Duerst, 18, of Monticello, advised he was traveling southbound when he swerved to avoid an oncoming southbound vehicle, which resulted in him entering the west ditch and colliding with a snowbank. Duerst advised he was uninjured and wearing his seatbelt. Duerst’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.  

On January 15:

● At 8:17 p.m., following a search warrant that was conducted in Iowa County regarding a skid loader that was stolen on 11/02/2023 in the W3700 block of CTH C, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, Adam F. Stocks, 33, of Dodgeville, was placed under arrest for Receiving Stolen Property (>$10,000). Iowa County Deputies later transported Stocks to the custody of Green County Deputies and he was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

On January 16:

● At 3:08 p.m., Deputies, Green County EMS, and Monroe Rural FD responded to the N4500 block of STH 69, in the Town of Monroe, for a reported one vehicle crash. The driver, Eugene A. Gessler, 80, of Monticello, advised he was traveling southbound when he lost control of the vehicle due to ice covered roads. Gessler then reported that he slid off the roadway and the vehicle overturned. Gessler advised he was wearing his seatbelt and not injured but was later transported to SSM Health by EMS. Gessler’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.

● At 4:19 p.m., Deputies, Monroe PD, Green County EMS, and Monroe Rural FD responded to the N2200 block of Haddinger Rd., in the Town of Clarno, for a reported two vehicle crash. The investigation found that Kathryn L. Miller, 59, of Orangeville, advised she was traveling southbound behind a vehicle slowing to turn into a driveway. Miller advised that she could not stop to avoid a collision and swerved into the northbound lane, where she collided with a vehicle driven by Richard R. Anderson, 57, of Monroe. Miller and Anderson advised that they were uninjured and wearing their seatbelts. Anderson’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Miller’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Miller was later cited for Following Too Close and released pending court.  

● At 8:19 p.m., following an investigation regarding a skid loader that was stolen on 11/02/2023 in the W3700 block of CTH C, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, Dustin J. Olson, 34, of Monroe was placed under arrest for Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property (>$10,000), and Bail Jumping. Olson was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court. 

On January 18:

● At 11:08 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle in the ditch in the N5100 block of CTH E, Town of Albany. Investigation resulted in, Chad Garthwaite, 52, of Brodhead,  being arrested for OWI (2nd offense).Chad was released to a responsible party pending a mandatory court appearance.

On January 20:

● At 6:14 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of Wis. 69 & CTH C, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant for a reported hit and run crash. Stephanie J. Cook, 47, of McConnell, was traveling southbound slowing for a snowplow when a vehicle struck the rear of her vehicle. Cook advised she was uninjured and wearing her seatbelt. Cook’s vehicle sustained minor damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene. 

● At 7:35 a.m., Deputies responded to the W1100 block of Wis. 11, in the Town of Spring Grove, for a reported two vehicle crash. It was found that Diana J. Kirby, 64, of Albany, was parked in a parking lot when Jason D. Mertens, 45, of Brodhead, was backing up and struck Diana. Kirby and Mertens advised they were uninjured and wearing their seatbelts. Both vehicles sustained minor damage, with no airbag deployment, and were driven from the scene.
