Green County Sheriff

On January 31:

● At 2:42 p.m., Deputies along with Green County EMS and Monroe Rural Fire Department responded to the W6900 block of Wis. 11, in the Town of Clarno for a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Steven W. Cole, 67 of Hazel Green, was traveling west bound when his vehicle was rear ended by another westbound vehicle. Cole sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Cole reported wearing his seatbelt. Cole’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was left at the scene. The second westbound vehicle was operated by Ryley R. Oliver, 22 of Browntown. Oliver reported non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Oliver was wearing her seatbelt, and the airbags deployed. Oliver’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Investigation resulted in Oliver being cited for Inattentive Driving and Insufficient Tread Depth. Oliver was released pending court.


Lafayette County Sheriff

On January 10:

● 9:57 p.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 81, Lamont Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

On January 11:

● 6:09 a.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 126, Elk Grove Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 11:19 a.m. A deputy responded to County E, Shullsburg Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 3:41 p.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 81, City of Darlington to assist Darlington Police with a one vehicle accident.

● 5:12 p.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 11, Shullsburg Township for a two vehicle accident. Zachary B Stroud, 21, Bellevue was traveling on STH 11 in his 2001 Ford when he passed in a no passing zone. As a result, he came into contact with a 2008 GMC driven by Ralph J Brown, 61, Sherill. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles received minor damage and were driven from the scene. Zachary Stroud was cited for Passing in a No Passing Zone.

On January 12: 

● 11:19 a.m. A deputy responded to Red Rock Road, Darlington Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 6:45 a.m. A deputy responded to County F, Fayette Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 1:41 p.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 11, New Diggings Township for a jack knifed semi.

● 3:55 p.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 126, Elk Grove Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 4:54 p.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 23, Darlington Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 6:40 p.m. A deputy responded to County B, Wayne Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 9:46 p.m. A deputy responded to U.S. 151, Belmont Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 9:49 p.m. A deputy responded to U.S. 151, Kendall Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 11:21 p.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 126, Elk Grove Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 11:36 p.m. A deputy responded to Hawley Road, Wiota Township for a vehicle in the ditch. 

On January 13:

● 12:33 a.m. A deputy responded to County H, Benton Township for a vehicle in the ditch. Benton First and Hazel Green EMS assisted.

● 1:50 a.m. A deputy responded to County U, Seymour Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 3:12 a.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 78, Wiota Township for a vehicle in the ditch.

● 4:43 a.m. A deputy responded to Wis. 23, Darlington Township for a vehicle in the ditch.


Monroe Police

On February 4:

● At 1:35 a.m., officers were called to a disturbance in the 900 block of 20th Street. The investigation led to the arrest of Candelario Mejia Gutierrez, 46, of Monroe, on a charge of disorderly conduct. Mejia Gutierrez was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
