Green County Sheriff

On Oct. 11:

● At approximately 2:43 p.m., Deputies responded to a two vehicle collision in the W8200 block of STH 81, in the Town of Jordan. The investigation revealed that Donald J. Von Arx, age 23 of rural Argyle, was traveling eastbound when his vehicle collided with the rear of another eastbound vehicle operated by Rick D. Robare, age 61 of Roscoe, IL. Donald reported wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries in the collision but refused treatment. Robare and his passenger, Tammy A. Guptill, age 64, reported wearing their seatbelts and sustained possible minor injuries in the collision but refused treatment at the scene. Robare’s vehicle sustained functional damage to the rear end. Von Arx’s vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front and towed from the scene. Von Arx was cited for following too closely and released pending a non-mandatory court appearance.

● At approximately 3:52 p.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH S and Mill Street, Jefferson Township, for a two vehicle accident.Investigation found that a vehicle operated by Todd A. Weber 45 of Rock City, was traveling south on CTH S.  A second vehicle operated by Laurie A. Phillips 61 of Juda, was stopped at the stop sign facing east.  As Weber’s vehicle approached the intersection, Phillips vehicle pulled out in front of Weber. Weber attempted to avoid striking Phillips vehicle but was not able to stop in time. Weber advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.  There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle.  The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.  Phillips advised she was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured.  There was no airbag deployment in the vehicle.  The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. Phillips was cited for Failure to Yield Right Way- Stop sign and released with a non-mandatory court date.

● At approximately 4:09 p.m. Stephanie A. Husom, 31 of Monroe, turned herself into the sheriff’s office on warrants issued by the Green County and Walworth County Circuit Courts. She was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

On Oct. 13:

● At 3:22 a.m., Deputies responded to a residence in the N2200 block of Richland Road, in the Town of Jefferson for a warrant attempt. Deputies took Vance L. Tracy 61, of Monroe into custody on felony warrants through the Green County Sheriff’s Office and Dane County Sheriff’s Office. Tracy was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

On Oct. 14:

● At approximately 9:30 a.m., Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6th ST in the City of Monroe where Travis J. Runke, 50 of Albany, was arrested on probation warrant/hold. He was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

● At approximately 3:03 p.m., Deputies responded to the N5500 blk of CTH J, Town of Washington, for a one vehicle accident. The investigation found a vehicle operated by, Beh Too Paw 19, of Rockford, was traveling north on CTH J.  Paw was negotiating a curve when the vehicle struck the gravel shoulder.  Paw attempted to correct the vehicle, but over corrected and the vehicle skidded across the roadway, striking the embankment and coming to rest in the south ditch. The occupants were not injured and were wearing their seatbelts.  There was airbag deployment in the vehicle.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  Paw was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and released with a non-mandatory court date.  

On Oct. 15:

● At 9:06 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the W3500 block of STH 11, Town of Sylvester. The driver, Luis Aceituno, 28, of Monticello. Aceituno was cited for OAR-Alcohol and was released with a future mandatory court appearance. 

● At 10:10 pm, Deputies stopped Luis Aceituno, 28 of Monticello, for OAR, in the W4800 block of CTH KK, Sylvester Township. Aceituno was cited for OAR and was released with a mandatory court appearance.

On Oct. 17:

● At approximately 9:50 a.m., Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6th Street, in the City of Monroe. As a result, Joshua H.W. Broge 35, of Monroe was arrested for a Probation Violation. He was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

On Oct. 18:

● At 6:37 a.m.  Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on State Hwy 39 near Tyvand Road, Town of York.  Investigation into the stop resulted in the driver William W. Welacha, 36, of Dodgeville being arrested for Bail Jumping (2 Counts). Welacha was cited for speeding 91\55 MPH, Operating After Suspension and Failure to Install Ignition Interlock Device. Welacha was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending bond or court.

● At 1:17p.m., in the 2800 block of 6th Street, in the City of Monroe. Deputies arrested Travis L. Murray, 38, of Monroe on an arrest warrant through the Rock County Sheriff’s Office. Murray was incarcerated at the Rock County Jail.

● At 3:24 p.m., Deputies along with Argyle EMS and Argyle Fire Department responded to the N6600 block of Biggs Rd, Town of Adams, for a single vehicle rollover accident with injuries. Investigations found the driver, a 16 year old of Argyle, was northbound when a deer entered the roadway. The driver reported applying the brakes and swerving to avoid the collision. The vehicle slid into the East ditch and down an embankment where it overturned. The driver sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was evaluated by EMS. The driver reported wearing the seatbelt and no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

On Oct. 19:

● At 8:01 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH KK and Radio Ln., Town of Sylvester, for a report of a two car accident with no injuries. Investigation found that a vehicle operated by Zachary K.S. Turner, 31 of Monroe was initially westbound on CTH KK and was waiting to turn onto Radio Ln., when a second vehicle rear ended his vehicle. The second vehicle operated by Lindsay M. Leuzinger, 16 of Monroe. Leuzinger attempted to stop, but the brakes failed and she struck Turner’s vehicle. Neither party were injured, both were wearing their seatbelts, and neither vehicle had airbag deployment. Turner’s vehicle sustained minor rear end damage and was driven from the scene. Leuzinger’s vehicle sustained suspected minor damage to its front end and was towed from the No citations were issued.

● At 11:45 a.m., Deputies along Albany Fire Department, Albany EMS, Albany Police and Brodhead EMS responded to a one vehicle crash with injuries in the W1200 block of Bump Road, Town of Albany.  Investigation determined that a westbound pick up truck operated by Jordi M. Frausto Martinez 22, of Beloit lost control entering the ditch and overturning.  Frausto Martinez sustained non life threatening injuries and was transported by Albany EMS.  Frausto Martinez was wearing his seatbelt and was not ejected or trapped.  A passenger in the vehicle sustained non life-threatening injuries and was transported to SSM Monroe by Brodhead EMS.  The passenger was wearing their seatbelt and was not ejected or trapped.  The vehicle sustained severe disabling damage with no airbag deployment and towed from the scene. Frausto Martinez was cited for Operating without a Valid License and Failure to Maintain Control of a Motor Vehicle.  He was released pending court.  

● At 2:00 p.m., Deputies responded to 2841 6th Street, City of Monroe for a warrant arrest. Deputies arrested Caleb J. McIntosh, 18 of Monroe for a Probation warrant.

On Oct. 26:

● 5:19 p.m. Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to Jenkynsville RD, Benton Township for a medical emergency.

● 5:27 p.m. A deputy responded to W Pleasant ST, Village of South Wayne for a parking problem. 

● 7:13 p.m. A deputy responded to E Main ST, Village of Benton for a 911 misdial. 

● 9:21 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 78, Blanchard Township for suspicious activity. 

● 10:55 p.m. A deputy responded to Woodberry RD, Darlington Township for livestock on the roadway. 

● 11:24 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Belmont Township for a report of suspicious activity. 

● 11:45 p.m. A deputy responded to W Mound RD, Belmont Township for  a report of suspicious activity. 

On Oct. 27:

● 3:52 a.m. Ryan A. Schneider, 38, Darlington reported striking a deer on STH 23, Darlington Town-ship. Schneider’s 2015 Chrysler received minor damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 4:04 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, New Diggings Township for an injured animal. 

● 10:46 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH F, Fayette Township for an animal problem. 

● 12:57 p.m. A deputy responded to W Center ST, Village of South Wayne for a 911 misdial. 

● 1:33 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to S Judgement in the City for a medical emergency. Shullsburg Police assisted on scene. 

● 3:05 p.m. A deputy responded to Horse Shoe Bend RD, Benton Township for suspicious activity. 

● 3:18 p.m. Karisa M. Chesebro, 18, Janesville was cited for Speeding on STH 11, Gratiot Township. 

● 3:30 p.m. Darlington Fire Department responded to CTH D, Fayette Township for a grass fire. Darlington Police assisted on scene. 

● 4:11 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Fayette Township for an animal problem. 

● 4:58 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH D, Wiota Township for an animal problem.
