Monroe Police

On July 26:

● At approximately 11:36 p.m., while Officers were conducting an investigation at the Monroe Police Department, 1811 12th Street, Officers were made aware of a possible impaired driver that had driven to the Police Department. Investigation resulted in Amber R. Gassman, 37, Monroe/ being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence 2nd Offense, with a passenger under the age of 16. Amber was also arrested for Resisting/Obstructing an Officer. Amber posted cash bond, and was released pending an initial court appearance.

Green County Sheriff

On July 18:

● At approximately 7:02 a.m., Deputies responded to the W800 block of Ten Eyck Rd, Town of Decatur, for a report of a single vehicle accident with property damage.  Deputies arrived and spoke with the driver, Brady Flannery, 16, who stated that he was looking down to check the speedometer when he struck a mailbox.  Brady was uninjured and was wearing a safety belt.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage, no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.

● At approximately 10:59 a.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Probation and Parole Office and placed Bradley Rear, 60 of Monroe, into custody on a probation hold. Bradley was transported to the Green County Jail where he will be held.

On July 20:

● At 1:49 p.m., Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6th Street, in the City of Monroe, to assist Department of Corrections Agents. Investigation resulted in Mark A. Elmer, 47 of Monroe being placed under arrest for a Probation Violation. Elmer was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

● At 8:16 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speed violation in the N300 block of State Highway 69, in the Town of Clarno. Investigation resulted in the driver, Maxwell T.F. Haffele, 20 of Monroe being cited for Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possess Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle. Haffele was released pending court.

On July 22:

● At approximately 8:16 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of County Highway C and State Highway 69, Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a report of a two vehicle crash with no injury.Investigation determined that Tony Beckwith, 57 of Argyle, was crossing STH 69 eastbound on CTH C, when he struck a northbound vehicle on STH 69 being operated by Alexis Clerkin, 23 of Monticello. Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts and not being injured. Alexis’ vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage and Tony’s vehicle was driven from the scene. Tony was ultimately cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign.
