Green County Sheriff

   On March 13:

● Investigation found that a vehicle operated by, Raymond E. Homme Jr, 18, of Monroe, was traveling south on STH 69.  Homme advised his vehicle had mechanical failure which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.  The vehicle traveled over an embankment and went airborne.  The vehicle then struck a power pole, fence and tree before coming to rest. Homme advised he was wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injury, but declined EMS.  There was airbag deployment in the vehicle.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Homme was cited for operate with no insurance.  He was verbally warned for failure to maintain control.

● At approximately 7:54 p.m., Deputies and the Brodhead Police Department responded to the W900 block of Cottage Rd., in the Town of Decatur, for a report of a car vs tree accident with no injuries.  The driver Christopher J. Kings, 27 of Brodhead, reported he was not injured. Christopher was traveling west on Cottage Rd. when he lost control of his vehicle, entered the north ditch and struck a tree. The vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. Christopher reported wearing his seatbelt and declined medical attention. The vehicle was towed from the scene and Christopher was cited for Failure to Maintain Control of his vehicle.

On March 14:

● At 10:43 a.m. deputies responded to a 2-vehicle crash at the intersection of Allen Rd & Butts Rd, Town of Cadiz. Investigation revealed that Debra K. Bidlingmaier, 66, of Browntown was northbound on Allen Rd in the process of turning west on to Butts Rd when her vehicle was struck by a northbound vehicle operated by Collin M. Nack, 37, of Monroe. Neither driver was injured in the crash and no air bags deployed. Bidlingmaier had moderate damage to her truck and it was towed from the scene. Nack had minor damage to his truck and it was driven from the scene.

● At approximately 11:51 a.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Probation and Parole Office and placed Jeremy L. Hartwig, 35 of Albany, under arrest for a probation hold. Jeremy was transported to the Green County Jail and was turned over to jail staff.

● At approximately 3:31 p.m., Deputies responded to the Green County Probation and Parole Office and placed David Winger, 46 of Brodhead, under arrest for a probation hold. David was transported to the Green County Jail and turned over to jail staff.

● At approximately 6:52 p.m., Deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the N5300 block of STH 69, in the Town of Washington, for its speed.  The driver, Torii T Norris, 19 of Madison, was arrested on four charges of felony bail jumping and possession of THC.  Torii received citations for failure to install IID, speeding in a 55 MPH zone, and operate without a valid license (2nd W/IN 3 yrs).  Torii was turned over to Green County Jail staff without incident.

● At approximately 8:06 p.m., Deputies responded to the W6400 blk of Patterson Rd., Town of Clarno, for a report of a physical altercation. Investigation resulted in Roberta R Krueger, 58, of Monroe, being placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct, Simple Battery and False Imprisonment. Roberta was jailed pending her initial court appearance.


Lafayette County Sheriff

On Feb. 17:

● 4:10 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to Ravine St, City of Darlington for a medical emergency.  Deputy assisted on scene. 

● 4:42 a.m. Deputy responded to Dawn Vista Dr, Village of Belmont for a check welfare. 

● 5:10 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH O, Shullsburg Township for a vehicle in the ditch. 

● 5:37 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH P, Monticello Township for a vehicle in the ditch. 

● 7:08 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, Monticello Township for a vehicle in the ditch. 

● 9:18 a.m. Gene A Montgomery, 68, South Wayne reported striking a raccoon on CTH N, Wayne Township. Montgomery’s 2013 Ford received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

● 11:47 a.m. Argyle EMS responded to S Broad St, Village of Argyle for a medical emergency. 

● 12:51 p.m. A deputy responded to Jordan Wiota Rd, Wiota Township for an injured animal on the roadway.

● 4:10 p.m. Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to 3rd St, Village of Benton for a medical emergency.

● 5:48 p.m. A deputy responded to Miner Way, City of Shullsburg to assist with a vehicle unlock.

● 10:56 p.m. Wiota First Response and Argyle EMS responded to Larse Rd, Town of Wayne for a medical emergency.   A deputy assisted on scene.

On Feb. 18:

● 10:01 a.m. Deputies responded to W Catherine St, City of Darlington for a citizen assist. 

● 3:26 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, Elk Grove Township for a traffic complaint. 

● 5:37 p.m. Kyle T Brauhn, 28, Epworth IA was cited for Operating without License and Speeding on CTH XX, Belmont Township.  Brauhn was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated (3rd) and Possession of THC. Brauhn was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was later released on a cash bond to a responsible party. 

● 6:09 p.m. A deputy responded to S Holland Rd, Gratiot Township for an animal injured on the roadway.


Monticello Police

On March 14:

● At approximately 8:47 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on E. Coates Avenue at N. Pratt Road.  As a result of the traffic stop, Kira E. Lambert, 18, of Monroe was cited for operating a motor vehicle without proof of vehicle insurance.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

On March 16:

● At approximately 10:18 a.m., Officers responded to the area of E. Lake Avenue and S. Madison Street for a report of items laying in the roadway causing a traffic hazard.  Officers checked the area and were unable to locate and traffic hazard.

On March 28:

● At approximately 9:39 p.m., Officers were requested to assist the Albany Police Department with an incident that the Albany Police Department was investigating. 

On March 29:

● At approximately 2:49 p.m., Officers conducted traffic control on State Hwy 69 at W. Coates Avenue for Monticello First Response.  First Response was responding to a medical emergency call outside of the village. 

● At approximately 6:31 p.m., Officers were requested to keep the peace with a civil matter in the 400 block of N. Pratt Road.  Officers advised those involved that they need to contact attorneys to resolve the matter.  

On March 30:

● At approximately 2:32 p.m., Officers were contacted in reference to possible illegal dumping into a creek inside the village.  The information was forwarded to the Department of Natural Resources.  

● At approximately 6:36 p.m., Officers responded to an open phone line 911 call.  Contact was made and everything was found to be okay.  

On March 31:

● At approximately 9:58 a.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of N. Main Street for a parking complaint.  The matter was resolved a short time later.

● At approximately 2:28 p.m., Officers were contacted by a non-resident who wanted to park a camper on the streets of Monticello.  Officers advised the caller of the village ordinance and that the camper/parking request was in violation of that ordinance. 


Monroe Police

On March 30:

● 12:14 a.m., officers were called to a report that Samantha R. M. Estep, 36, Monroe, was violating her bail conditions while at a residence in the 2700 block of 8th 1/2 Street. Estep left prior to officers arrival but was later located in the 1700 block of 11th Street. An investigation led to the arrest of Estep on three, counts of bail jumping due to violations of bail conditions from prior cases prohibiting alcohol consumption. Estep was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
