Green County Sheriff
On March 26:
● At 3:40 a.m., Deputies responded to the N1900 block of State Highway 69, in the Town of Clarno, for the report of a single vehicle roll over with no injuries. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Santos Tinoco, 51 of Monroe, was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to snowy road conditions. The vehicle entered the east ditch and overturned. Tinoco reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was towed from the scene.
● At 5:58 a.m., Deputies responded to the W6300 block of State Highway 39, in the Town of New Glarus, for the report of a single vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Morgan E. Runass, 20 of Evansville, was traveling eastbound when she lost control due to the snowy road conditions. The vehicle then entered the ditch and came to rest. Runass reported no injuries, was wearing her seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was towed from the scene.
Monticello Police
On April 11:
● At approximately 5:32 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Main Street for a subject who reported to be a victim of a scam. The victim was in contact with someone who claimed to be employed with Amazon and wanted the victim to download an application to their cell phone so the caller can have control of the victim’s cell phone. This was indeed found to be a scam.
On April 12:
● At approximately 10:13 a.m., Officers received a traffic complaint in the area of E. Lake Avenue. A resident reported that semis are using their “jake brakes” in the village to slow down in the area of E. Lake Avenue and Main Street. The resident also reported that vehicles are constantly travelling in excess of the posted speed limit on E. Lake Avenue. Officers set up the speed board and will increase monitoring traffic on E. Lake Avenue.
On April 14:
● At approximately 5:03 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on STH 69 and W. Lake Avenue for an observed traffic violation. As a result of the traffic stop, Breona D. Mallett, 29, of Sun Prairie was cited for operating a motor vehicle while suspended, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Malletts vehicle was left parked at the scene and a valid driver was arranged. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
